hey guys i didnt know where to post this so here it goes: as many of you know, i have these heavy ass 19" wheels on my camaro. do you guys think that i should put the stock wheels back on so i can get a higher reading on the dyno? i know i'll lose about 10whp with these heavy wheels but i think the stock wheels would give me a more accurate 15% drivetrain loss so i can figure my crank hp. any opinions cause my car is on the stands right now and im going to napa to get some parts. thanks

ehhhh the stock wheels eh? does that mean my car has to go on stands for dyno day? or will you just use some stock salad shooters off my car?

would the heaviness of the wheels really make that much of a difference on a dyno? It's not like the car is carrying them down a track, just around in a circle on the rollers. Once they get spinning, i don't know that the weight of the wheels would make any difference.
Then again, thats just a theory, i really don't know.
id say put stock wheels on for the dyno, maybe it wont make a huge difference, but it wouldnt hurt
melissa..i think it comes down to a rotating mass issue. my friend who races sportbikes was all about that and dropping weight on rotors pads calipers wheels etc

We should just get a Z71 emblem for your 4x4 man!
May my Traction TAs rest in peace.

I like those wheels!!
hmm, i thought about getting black rims for my SS, but after seeing alexs car and now yours...im sorta glad i didnt. they look good but not my taste. plus i think my factory SS wheels look just fine. and itd be stupid to change them sicne thats a main part of the SS package i paid so much for. lol

the black isnt for everyone... but in the black's defense () it looks much better in person
I was going to get black 22's for my Denali(around $2400), but then i came across the 20's with almost new tires for 1200. Those 20" Giovannas with tires cost the guy $4200 new.

The heavier rims will change ur torque specs, and ur stoping power, but i dont think it'll change ur ur hp rating. If u think about it the bigger n heavier wheels will changer ur gear ratio. but 325 hp at the rear with 2.73s will be 325hp with 4.10s. So i think hp wise will be abouit the same while torque WILL be slightly differant.

wow that was hard to read.

yeah i was hoping for a translation... but any rotational mass will effect the hp/torque. my question was whether it was gay to lighten up the wheels just to get higher numbers... but i already left the salad shooters on so i guess it doesnt matter anymore

just go with those salad shooters but be careful cause those tires arent the safest anymore. I dont think its going to make that much of a difference man If I were you I would stick the other wheels on just to be on the safe side and not drive on those bald ass Traction TA's

Dyno the car in the exact way you race it.
Wheel weight can affect it slightly
