the site existed for about 10days before it was opened up and publicly promoted. if you look at the join dates on the member list you will see the first 11 names are justin, myself, and some invited members who were key to setting up the original layout. :)

I remember I lingered on njfbody for a while thinking these upstarts who ran off on their own wouldn't amount to much.

Heh... wrong!

ahhh, the story of how we got started.
many of you remember the old NJFBODY. cryz, teh chick that ran the site, had a bunch of huge ideas. unfortunately there was no plan in place to reach any of these lofty goals and anyone who pointed that out to her/mentioned that she didn't know what she was doing was automatically completely absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt WRONG!!!!!
jsutin and i were hanging out one night drinking with a few people in his basement(this used to happen very often) when a war erupted about having an all club meet. being a state club, people suggested places towards teh middle of the state, that was too far for cryz to drive. so she decided not only to have the meet right around the corner from her house, but to have it at a place that a chese burger is going to set you back $20+. not exactly the place to have a meet for a bunch of t-shirt wearing beer drinkers.
after the war of the meet started justin and i were once again drinking in the basement. teh topic obviously turned to captain stupid and her plans to take over teh world.
after more drinking and more reading of her retarded posts the topic of a new way to do things came up.
after even more drinking a plan was hatched that we would start a club of our own and show her how things shoudl be run(beer not only grows muscles, but makes you smarter than the rest of the interweb)
after several more beers(there may be a shot or two in there that i don't remember clearly) i finally pulled out a credit card and told jsutin to get us a web site. he asked for a name/web address, there was an extended pause and then the 3 or 4 drunks in the room(who said it first i have no idea) came up with NJFBOA collectively.
thus the adventures in board wars began and much whackyness followed.
initially(actually up to this post) we played everything very nicey nice in public while secretly plotting all the things we liked about car clubs into our plans.
cryz responded by declaring war on us and changing our sig links to jump to a gay porn site and read something about the best gay porn on the web.
we responded(politically correct as possible) that we had no intentions of undoing her club, we jsut planned to offer an alternative for those of us who were interested in a different club management style(which was a crock of ****, but whatever :))
after this went on for a while and several people started going hard core on the offensive in our names(most of whom we didn't even directly provoke :D) cryz hits me up telling me that we had "won" adn that she was leaving. she handed over control of the site to BigAl first to try to save it, but then gave me the same powers and full access to the site.
after an announcement in the lounge on the old club's site a lot more people started finding their way over here. before we knew it we had grown to have more members than the old club and in september, after only being public for a little over a month, we held our first ever meet. with about 40 f-bodies and over 50 people at the firkin tavern.
as you all know we have been making it up as we went along ever since :D

only thing i wish we had been able to do was archive the old site. hidden among the 32 forums(that is not a joke, she actually had that many) there was actually some useful tech. there were also many rounds of a great game called "Ask Al", where al came to show his no famous ability to give stupid answers to even more stupider questions :)

if someone still remember her car domain please link it up so everyone can see how "special" she is. lol

the thumbnail does bring back some memories for sure. we didn't really know what we were getting into, don't think we really know now either. lol
we promise to keep making up the next step as we go as long as everyone else will promise to continue following and pretending we know what we are doing :p
