i guy at work has a friend whos parents want to sell there 1967 camaro. i went and looked at it today and it is pretty dam rough. the floors, trunk, quarters, rear wheel wells, deck lid, doors, rockers, fenders are all shot. i used to be a body man so fixing it really isnt a big deal. they said to make an offer. what do you think it is worth. it is a base model 67 camaro. its got a 327 with an automatic. its a one owner numbers matching never been ****ed with car. but like i said its in really rough shape. it been sitting outside in there back yard for at least 10 years, so you can imagine what it looks like.
thanks for any help

offer them a grand and see if they take it. The crappy thing is even in that condition, first gens still pull in a ton of money. good luck, keep us posted.

for $500 you really can't go wrong. jsut the numbers matching drivetrain would go for double that to soemone doing a resto on a similarly date coded car.
if you can fix it up yourself and sell it you will easily get your money back.

Grab it for $500 but it will probably be worth $20K at the most fully restored. As for the matching #'s, most of the 67 base model cars with the 327/2 bbl carb did not actually get the VIN stamped on the engine, just the engine and date code. So if the engine doesn't have a partial VIN stamped in it, it could be worth some money to someone else with a car in the same time frame.

seems like a sweet deal. first gens fetch a ton of money done up right. my dads friend got offered $35k for his 67 rs/ss and turned it down a few years ago.

Go for it, especially if you can do some/most of the work yourself. Think of it this way- if it's rough, you can build it up like you want.

i think im going to have the guy at work make them an offer of $500. i would buy it without the intentions of parting it out. i would like to make it a real nice hotrod to enjoy. hopefully everything will fall through nicely and that bad boy will be at my house within the next week or two.
