suck! my friend was driving me and his cousin to applebees tonight...and we got pulled over for supposedly "running" the stop sign at french hill/alps by the gas station. When my friend gave him his stuff with like 2 pba cards the cop asked why are you giving me all this and just hands them back without even looking at them. Then he says he had to many people in the car because he has his provisional liscense and that one of us has to call for another ride. so the cop goes back to his car and comes back and goes, this is for running the stop sign and this is for the tints and walks away.....acting like a PURE *******. man they suck. we didnt even run the stop sign. *******.

Yeah, the Heat suck in Wayne. I got pulled over once for making an illegal left. But I had no idea I was making it because the sign had been stolen. The cop gave me a hard time after a while but was like, "just look for the sign next time." What a doofus.

thats what cops do, they issue tickets. it sucks but i realized its a part of driving. i've gotten to the point where i began factoring it into my annual expenses

Yeah well thats what happens when you drive double the speed limit constantly.
You know I was wondering that too but thought that I may have just been confused
so they ran a light instead of a stop sign?
my best friend, a guy that i knew since i was like 6 years old, just died like a week ago because some piece of **** scum bag ran a red light. the cop should've given you 10 ****ing tickets and took your lisence away in that case

Drive like you're supposed to. Provisional license? Don't drive your friends. Doesn't sound like the cop's fault to me. Even if your friend doesn't stop at the signs / lights he should be thankful the dump trucks do.

its rare that a cop doesnt look at pba cards, you probably just caught him on a bad night. If your friend honestly didnt run any sign or light, id have him contact the cops that gave him the pba cards in the first place. If a cop seriously gave a ticket for no reason, thats just wrong. either way, the provisional lisence thing and number of passengers really cant be overlooked though, you gotta really obey that. as for the tints, 99% of the cops would see a pba card and let you go. And if your friend did run any sign, well then theres nothing to do.

STOP stands for Spin Tires On Pavement. (otherwise known as spin 'em ;))

the provisional license is ******** for the people who it applies too. I know I wouldn't have liked having one, but luckily for me it went into effect a year or two after i got mine. I can understand the logic behind it though. Most people when they first get their licenses either drive like jackasses or are just dumb drivers, especially with people in the car. It's supposed to cut down on the number of accidents/fatalities in that age group, where automobile accidents are the number 1 cause of death.

They pulled me over right outside the DMV for "unclear plates". I was giving a friend a ride up there to get his licence restored, Never do that favor again.

thats sucks, but it is apart of life unfortunatley.
I doubt there is anyone on the board who can say they haven't run into a bad cop at one point or another. Lots of times its not even a bad cop its just a cop having a bad day. You'll run into the good ones and the bad ones.
The provisional license thing sucks but thats why my rear seats are coming out.

FWIW I was pulled over 3 times with my provisional... oen I had 2 other peopel in the car he didnt say anything, got a tint ticket, that was a tenafly cop (the biggest dick too from what I hear, like he would pull you over for 30 in a 25)... then the time I was going 95 on rt 4, got tickets from a bergen county cop for 88 in a 50 (thats what he clocked me at), careless driving, and failure to keep to the right, and he checked to see if I had a front plate or tints (windows were down cuz it was nice out, he had me roll them up) to give me tickets for those too if I was in the wrong... I had 2 other peopel in the car, he didnt say anything. Then a bergenfield cop randomly ran my plates at wendys one night, it was after hours, he made me leave the car there... me and a couple other people ended up sneaking it out but thats a whoel nother story. Oh and on the parkway at the end of senior year in my dads car, had 3 other people in the car and got pulled over by a state cop and got tickets for unsafe lane change and failure to signal (i actually did but my dads car had a recall for wiring we later found out about, and it was blinking inside the car but not outside, we got that thrown out) and he didnt say anything about the GDL.
SO in my experiance... I agree that the provisional license restrictions don't matter to most of them.
