I ordered an LS1 Tailight from them 7 days ago, they still cant even provide a tracking number. This is BS, a dealer would have that tailight within 3 days. I think they take orders, and wait to buy from GM in bulk. I dont think they are connected with GM at all! Whats your experience?

GMPD is notorious for slow shipping. From what I understand they don't stock every part they sell, only the more popular items. You'll eventually get your part, I haven't ever heard of anyone getting stiffed by them.

They sell parts well below what you would pay at the dealer, so if you aren't in a huge rush to get your part, then they are the ones to go to.

I believe GMPD is actually a collection of dealers and they just shop the order around until they find a dealer that has the part in stock. I've gotten parts from dealers all over the country through GMPD. It usually takes around a week to get stuff since you have no idea where it's really coming from.

Ive ordered before a coule times... while it was pretty slow, I did get my parts and at a good price. If Im not in a hurry for the part, I always order from there. Have saved alot of money!

Ive never used them, but ill keep in mind shipping is really slow. i just used them to get a price of a crate service engine today. I wont be ordering it from them but it was helpful to see what a going price for one is. their price was $3,000 less than the dealer.

I ordered a headlight motor from them once and it took 3 weeks to get to me:evil: I need to order another one, so I'll probably order it on the 1st and it should be home waiting for me when I get back from this deployment lol. Well it better be

Thanks for all the replies guys, i didnt put it in the lounge, because it had to do with buying parts, and thats what people in the classified forum are doing. GM Parts Direct, is Flow Chevrolet, so they are not going to have Pontiac body parts in stock. But the name implies, you are dealing direct with GM, thats why i was stupid enough to order from them. I think its fair to say, you get a good price, but they make you wait for it, bad customer service.

You could go to a dealer and pay a lot more get the part within a day or two OR you go to gmpartsdirect, get a killer deal, but have to wait a few weeks. Seems like an even trade off to me.

Yea Summit is good. Its not an even trade off if you cant get your car back on the road for 2-3 weeks though

Yea but you dont know that until you order, there prices are good, but you are going to wait at least 2 weeks. Just wanted everybody to know.

Just want everybody to know, got my part today, in good condition, so the prices are good, you have to wait 2 weeks, but if you keep that in mind when ordering, its still a good deal.

Meh, I orderd a 170* tstat from GM and got it in less then a week. Longer then summit, but not 2 weeks. It was also cheaper then summit.

i guess it depends on the item...I've gotten some parts in 3 days (my antenna mast and seat belt guides) and others in 1-2 weeks, which irked the hell outta me...I'm impatient, too, so I like my stuff in less than a week, but i like genuine parts, unless it's an upgrade
