I have a question about ls1 trans ams and ws6's about gas milage. did the ws6's get better gas milage then the regular trans ams 17/23 verses 18/26 or was that just 98-00 and 01+??
Thanks

not a noticable difference
the biggest difference in gas mileage would be between a fully optioned, auto WS.6 T/A and a completely no option, 6 speed formula. Even then, the difference wouldn't be huge.

ok because I was just wondering if it was the year difference 00 verses 01 or the fact that the 00 was justa trans am and the 01 was a w6
my 99 gets about that gas mileage even with 3.73's.......

I think a lot of it has to do with what gears you ended up with and how you drive it.... for example a 2.73 geared TA would get better gas mileage on the highway then a 3.42 geared WS6 ... but I doubt its really all that much at all in the end
i got 29 mph in my SS on the way to florida 2 years ago. you gotta love a 6 speed. Thats one main reason i'm swapping in a T56 into the Monte now that gas prices are going up and a T5 with 3.73s on the highway sucks.

With my old 93 Z28 Indy Pace Car which was an A4 with 3.23 gears, got 26-28 mpg on the highway and averaged 17.5 mpg over the 45K miles that I put on it. That was with the Powerdyne supercharger, SVO 24 lb injectors, SLP chip, Borla y-pipe and Flowmaster cat-back. Most of my driving is around town where I'm lucky to even get up to 45 mph so averaging 17.5 was pretty good.

i normally get 16-18mpg average but most of my driving is shooting back and forth up rt. 130(redlights every 2 minutes ) and i blame part of it on my big feet cuz big feet = big shoes which means heavy foot :{ but going to philly and back i got 23mpg and this is a 02 ws6 with 3.23's

I get 19-22 with 4.11s and my driving habits (not the best, lol)

Mostly it depends on your driving as said previously. My wife's Honda gets 45 MPG when she drives it. Then misteriously it only gets 37 or so when I drive it :drive:

Yeah, its an old post, but I figured it was still credible.
