View Full Version : Dealing with Infinity with Warranty

Well, one of my speakers just took a nosedive today. It was an Infinity Kappa 63.7i speaker. I've gone through like 4 different sets of these speakers in just the past 2 years... and it's starting to tick me off a little.

I've never called Infinity up for the warranty, because I always bought the speakers on ebay- and they say that you need to buy them "direct from them" to get any warranty coverage- just so happens they are twice the price directly from them, go figure.

Anyway, my question is, anyone here ever dealt with Infinity or any speaker company before with regards to warranty? I have all the paperwork and packaging that came with the speakers, but have never called because of all the BS in the contract. Let me know... I'd be really interested to hear if any of these speaker companies have ever come through with any of their warranties.

P.S. The thing that REALLY ticks me off is that I'm only using a 75WRMSx4 amp to power the speakers, and they are supposed to be rated at that amount. Oh well :-/

Hmmm, I have them in mine and have not had a problem yet. I can't say I have dealt with them. The best thing I can tell ya it to find the warrenty line, or contact the person you brought them from. Now if you bought them from a private seller, your kinda SOL.

kevin i think i forgot to tell you on pm that infinity can pretty much tell when a speaker has been a abused solely because speakers generally dont fail unless there is a HUGE design flaw on their part or cause of some sort of external damage. i mean you could probably try to jew them out of fixing a speaker for cheap just so you dont have to buy two new ones. call them up and ask them. if you see no damage to the speaker then its just the motor burned up and tell them that. let me know what happens
