if i remeber correctly it had something to do with no battery hold down and a cracked windshield last time. i don't think he has a DS loop or long wheel studs either

Well, I have the following:
approved snell 95? helmet
fire jacket
blow down tubes for both bottles
d/s safety loop.
I passed last time out.
I have been given crap for stock length wheel studs and a cracked windshield. Do I really need to have longer wheel studs? I run weld drag lite wheels

yeah, technically the wording in the book is "The thread engagement on all wheel studs to the lug nut must be the equivalent to or greater than the diameter of the stud. Length of the stud does not determine permissibility; length of the engagement between the stud and lug determines permissibility."
Take that as you will.

Good lord...... so if I knew how much my lug nuts (from weld) screwed onto my stock wheel studs then I could, in theory, be fine?
I was told because I run weld drag lites I MUST have open ended lug nuts and wheel studs rediculously long. This was just twice though

this is how it was explained to me...
say you have 12mm studs- the stud must stick out 12mm from the face of the wheel...weld wheels are thick so you must use longer studs.. open or closed ended lugs dont matter.

i've always been told they need to be open lugs so they can see the studs. I'm not sure if thats a book requirement or a way to make tech easier so they dont have to make you take a lug off. i run open lugs and extended studs all around on my camaro because my racing wheels are welds too.

Sigh, well, I'll give it a shot.
I plan on getting longer wheel studs eventually but the car budget is ZERO now.... I work with what I have
Thank you for the info.... maybe I can drag clutch master along w/ me... I need to make him my bitch at the track and school him in the world of v6>LS1 ;)

FWIW - I thought you passed tech last time because you were N/A, and you told the inspector that it was only your second time at a drag stip and you borrowed a helmet from a friend. :)

Rolling up with 2 big nitrous bottles mounted in the trunk area kinda gives it away that it is not my first time to the track!
I don't think I can get away with that again ;)
