i guess we'll get the whole story tomorrow.
At least now i can go to bed and not worry about losing any sleep over this.
The site is back up, and all is well, now our lives can continue...

Judging by this I'm thinking the buddy list had something to do with it...
Auto response from Tru2Chevy24: My apologies to all who have been trying to access www.NJFBOA.org this afternoon. Our account was suspended for overloading our hosting company's webserver.
I have received information from our host regarding the issue, and we will take steps to figure out what caused it and prevent it from happening again.
The site is now back up and running as usual.

i am blaming a combination of diva destruction and lepardoo. :p
actually, it is just that our hosting company has proven much less reliable than they advertised. the suspension of our site was for reasons not listed in the contract and they have failed to give any explaianation of how a forum with less than 1000 members could have put so much strain on what are supposed to be uberservers.
our contract with canaca is up in july and justin is already searching for a suitable replacement.

looking at the info i have access to i am just gonna have to call ********. we didn't have any more people on than usual at the time the site went down.
i am thinking they ****ed up and we caught the ****** end of the stick for it while they sorted out their own disaster.

By looking at the server logs that Justin showed me. It looks like something with the newreply php script went out to lunch and caused cpu usage on the servers that the hosting admins do not like at all. So all in all, I think it was just some freak occurance of some bug in the php code that just needed to be restarted. Or if you want an easier answer, just blame it on kasey!

Garrett was on the money with that one. It was actually the vBulletin software itself that caused the overload (we basically accounted for more than 10% of the CPU load of the server we are on). While our account did cause an issue with the server, I still do not like the way it was handled by Canaca, and will be switching too a new hosting provider before the end of July.
