I'm thinking of getting the Dart Pro 1 LS1 heads for my new SS motor.
Im just wondering about a combustion chamber size. These are 62cc, and my rotating assembly is 8.5:1 CR based on 67cc heads. I will be forced induction so i wanna stay as close to 8.5:1 as possible.
Right now i can get a great deal on the heads so im trying to find out asap.
These are the specs...

I would consider contacting dart or texas-speed or another reseller...they look to be great heads for the money...not the best on the market but probably right behind etp & afr's right now from what im reading but definitly a great budget aftermarket head.

right now they are about $640 each assembled at summit... so $1280 for the pair. And i figure the supercharger will overcome some of the possible disadvantages. Now i gotta get in touch with Dart, and if they'll work with a 4.030" bore then im going to get them.

i was wondering about them as well, but in the LS1 section, they listed them for 16XX.00, but in the engine section, 1280.00

is that a typo?

no, its not a typo, assembled dart heads for like 640 each. i was on the summit website and they have instant rebate. when you put them in your shopping cart, they show up as like $1279.00.

If possible go with a thicker head gasket..

I have in my shop seen almost all thats available and they all have good stuff and some have not so good stuff but over the past year or so all the heads we get we have had to check and some re do the valve job as it is all over the place we start buy lapping the valves with fine compound and check that all the seat margins are in the same place and as far as PC seals go their the best BUT if you dont use ( HYLOMAR - its a blue colored sealent originaly invented by Rolls Royce in the 70s ) it stays put when applyed use rubber gloves and the seal wont ride up and down with the top retainer if you use a small amount around the top of the valve guide it will keep motor from using oil and you wont see it smoke but it will use oil if you know what i mean ( at slow enging speeds the seal will sort of work but 70 mph with stock gears it will eat a quart in no time ) just my experence on doing this all the time -- most auto stores carry it again use gloves you will not believe how much you will end up on you if you dont jz

i have no clue what you said, or what that had to do with heads, use real sentences.

He is saying something about the Dart heads having oil consumption issues which I have heard about.

I would steer clear of them until they get it resolved.

For a budget head I'd go with Texas Speeds PRC head.
