who has done the tail light mod (all red)

what paint are u suposed to use i was told testors, and then somone eelse told me to get the stained glass paint from home depot, i cant decide if i want the tails solid red, or leave the backup lights clear

hmm never really seen that, interesting. from dealing with the lights alot, ive noticed it seems the yellow lens can be seperated, maybe itd be worth getting a spare set and cutting the red sections and fully replacing the yellow for a perfect match

but eh..mine look better :-D

I bought em a few years back from a Marine that was stationed in Japan and he had an iroc there. He brought the lights back with him when he returned to cali, and i forget how i got in touch with him, but i had to have them. They are the 3rd gen export taillights, ive seen pics of another set once on ebay, but thats it. I also have the export light on my '01 SS so i sorta have matchign taillights lol. They look different and to some they look ugly, but they grow on you quick. I first had them on my 86 iroc, now they are on this 85.

well i will have the neatest set of taillights soon,im having programable clear led tails built they ar eclear when there off but the leds are colored,and u can pprogram then to have like a bowtie for the parking lites then go solid red when u hit the brakes etc(prety much limit less).then they have like a showoff mode wwwere they can flash in sequence or make designs etc.one of the guys that helps out at the shop is building them for me/hes a electronic/electrical enginer,and computer geek lol

btw if u come across anymore of thos eexport lites let me know

sure thing, im not sure when they will be done he started on them fo rme about 2-3 months ago,so far he has made the controller and wrote the software for programing them,but im not sure on how far he is with actually assembling the lights into the housings.im quessing this is gonan take some time since this stuff is getting mounted into stock taillight housings,and im quessing every led has to be wired individually.but it should be pretty cool once hes done.and if there not to exspensive to make i may be able to get him to build me up a few sets to sell.though ill have to wait till hes done to find out
