I called summit for a cam kit and they asked me a question that i dont know the answer to and i asked around and no one could give me an answer.
the question is, Is the cam in my car stock a flat top cam or a roller cam. Summit couldn't tell me the answer i needed to find out myself. So if anyone can give me an answer i greatly apprciate it.

If your car still has the original motor, it will have a roller cam in it. If it doesn't, all bets are off until you decipher what motor is in it.

Yup, your stock cam is a hydraulic roller cam.

Actually, the '87-up F-body 305s and 350s had roller cams. The '87-'88 Montes all got flat-tappet cams, but those 305s chould be converted to roller cams with factory parts; just drill/tap the 3 holes that hold the lifter "spider" in place, then drop in the roller cam/lifters/retainers.
