Thanks to Dave and Gary over at B&J in Wyckoff. We spent all friday night with prep and paint and all day saturday w/ reassembly and polish. I'm shot but I'm really happy with the results...

His idea of protecting it from rock chips is not driving it...ever.

I guess I have to accept a certain degree of "chippage" - i drive the car about 18k - 20k a year so it comes with the territory - but hey, at least i know the painter!

its not so much the paint but the TIME it took - it was me and one of the guys at the shop working a combined total of close to 35 hours to do the whole thing... so you could imagine it being a bit more than an average repaint - if you're really interested i could send you a quote.

After this weekend - id LOVE to do a bike - thats a lil bit less involved!

Yeah, something like that you'd have to be super meticulous I would imagine. It's good know there's a decent place nearby for painting.

I don't like flame jobs on most cars, just not my thing. I can however, certainly appreciate the time, effort, and creativity that went into something like that.

Good stuff!

Just curious, what paint to do you spray(if you said it in another post I missed it)

I used House of Kolor for the flames... white base, Cobalt Blue Kandy for the dark blues and Oriental blue for the light - the paint is unbelievable... after the clear hits it, it just GLOWS - awesome stuff - its all ill use!

Thanks all for the kind words - this is something i knew i could get into - it was a sigh of relief to see it turn out well on my own car!
