how bout it?? who wanted to get pwned like a n00b???? i think noah does :twisted: whoever wants to play hit me up on aim (brandon56894) idk if id be good at hosting the server cuz i only have a 45kb upload speed :?

**Keep in mind that even though these are optional they will be downloaded if we decide to play that map, and if they have to be downloaded from me it will kill the bandwith which will give us ****** gameplay. So if you have the space on your harddrive do us all a favor and download the freakin map packs :D Also some of the Bonus Packs contain different skins (characters) that wont display correctly if they arent installed (they'll most likely just look like a soldier instead)***

Installation:

If it has the UT2004 icon copy it to the maps folder in UT2004 folder

If its a Zip/RAR archive just extract the files to your UT2004 directory (if it asks you to overwrite files click yes)

ChaosUT2
ok from what ive read there are 3 different ways to use/load ChaosUT
1) you can load it via the mutators (which i would do, you wouldnt have to)
2) you can load it outside of UT2004 by creating a shorcut to UT2004 and adding -mod="ChaosUT2" to the target in the shortcut properties (This loads all of the features of ChoasUT2)
3) you can load UT2004 normally then click the community button, go to user mods tab, select chaos and hit activate (This also loads all of the features of ChoasUT2)

I guess we'll decide before the game starts what we wanna play

can u run a server from a linux/nix box i have a few servers i can host gameservers and **** on 0c-12 or better connections

yea for 2004 you can, u can install the whole game under linux. i dont think you can for the old UT though unless u have some sort of windows emulator

found a stand alone dedicated server :D http://www.beyondunreal.com/main/ut2004/ut2004essential.php its all the way at the bottom. it'd be kick ass if you could add all of the add-ons too :mrgreen: i could either send them to you (i have them all in a 2 gig package) or they can be downloaded individually from that same site....

well its a shell script so im sure you prolly could. as for the add-ons that might be a lil more complicated since the pack that i have is a batch file. you could do it manually but it'd prolly take awhile or i could take a stab at it if you trust me :lol:

yea i clicked on the link and it was like file not found then i was like well then how did dave d/l it?? then i searched for it and found one. even though it says the download servers are down try them, they work :D

im at the epic games site and just saw something cool, if you can get it to work we can rent a kick ass private server for $4 a person :D its a pretty cool idea

yea the keyword being IF :lol: you get it installed yet?? i extracted mine and i had to copy a few files over from the actual game cuz winrar is bein gay and gives me CRC errors. right now im tryin to figure out how to use it and supposedly there is a web admin feature :mrgreen:

My second desktop PC (PIII 700ish, 512 mb ram, FX 5200) i was going to use it for Unix/Linux (collectively known as *nix), but I'll have to install Windows XP in order to setup a dedicated game server.

No problem man. I know the key works, I installed it on a machine I built for a friend a while ago. He ended up going back to 2k due to lack of driver support at the time. Things should be a lot better now though.

if not what about my dad's comp... even tho its a beater... athlon XP2200+, 1.79 GHz, 480 MB RAM, 10 gigs of 74.5 free on one drive (18.4 out of 19 on the other)

for your laptop doom3 most likely no, ut/ut2004 most likely...

you could definately run 2004 on your dads computer (if you ever wipe it clean) doom3 is a possibility, prolly at low quality...

they depend alot on video ram too (how much ram there is on your video card, 128mb should be decent for doom3 and pretty good for meduium settings in ut2004)

I'm not exactly in the proper state necissary to dl and install programs. Although, I want to thank all those years of keyboarding because no matter how bad I get I rarely ever spell anything wrong, improper diction on the otherhand.

haha, that was a great four hours :lol: like half way through our 3rd game some random guy called fatty joined in, then we changed to CTF and some guy named k-death was on my team then after like a game or two his character just sat there and didnt move :? we gotta finish/start our onslaught game, never actually played a full onslaught game..... and yea we gotta play chaos UT whenever i get my **** fixed..
