Opinions on Poly vs. Rubber Motor Mounts?

Hey all,
The 305 is coming out on the weekend, and the 355 is going in - come hell or high water. Any opinions on stock rubber vs. poly motor mounts? I'm thinking just some good stock replacements will be fine, assuming I even need to change them. The car only has 89K miles on it.

Your thoughts??

cant speak from experiance but i always read ect bout what a difference poly mounts make... im prolly gonna go with them when i put on some headers ect

it will vibrate a little but it will be well worth it... so far i have heard 2 different people call poly motor mounts their "favorite bolt on." i'm gonna do it when i do my headers

I found little difference between rubber and poly as far as vibration on engine mounts, I noticed the trans mounts do transmit more vibration. But I perfer poly in that the do not deterorate like rubber and cause the engine to sink.
My vote is for Poly.

I vote poly too.

The only reason I don't have them is that I got a brand new set of rubber mounts for $5.

I will most likely do the poly, but I'm concerned with vibration and noise. My wife will occasionally go for a ride in the car too and I don't wanna hear her complain about it. ;) If someone could convince me it won't be any noisier I'll do it.

Is it OK to run a solid rubber tranny mount with poly engine mounts?

my 86 is all poly first time i started her up car shook like a bitch almost vibrated the dash pad loose its gotten better and i assume once i get some miles on the car it will almost completly go away and thats on bmr's k member with the built in mounts, i wouldn't recomend doing poly mounts then a rubber tranny as it will most likely tear or brake a lot sooner.

Trans mounts are cheap enough that you could try the poly/rubber combo to see how it is, and if you tear up the rubber trans mount too quickly, you'll just have to upgrade. ;)

I will go with poly over rubber any day. Especially trans/engine mounts. I went through 4 rubber trans mounts since i got my car 3 years ago and finally went to poly this year.
