yea i hit a tree, i was commin (at 12:30 at night, it was pitch black and i WASNT driving like an *******/ricer/whatever) around a corner and drove through a puddle i didnt see (let me rephrase this, its more like a freakin lake, theres a few new houses on that corner and one has an auto sprinkler system that floods the road with water, ill post the pics later) since there arent any lights around there and as i was exiting the turn i accelerated and the rear tires broke loose, i tried to correct it, oversteered, did a 180 and smacked a tree with my driverside wheel/fender. i'm fine, my friend and i werent hurt at all in it.... though the dudes tree is messed up

wow i think thats the meanest thing youve said to me so far :???: and i doubt you could of saved it so :stfu:
exactly the reason i didnt post this up when it happened but i figured some of you guys might know a good place to get it fixed. Trenton is about an hour and a half from me and the car wont drive cause the suspension and all that is shot on the drivers side...
as for the money i actually got around 11 grand but since they totaled it i had to buy it back for around a grand or some ****. about 2 grand is going to my dad (around $850 for my computer **** and about a grand for the insurance surcharges) and whatever money is leftover im gonna put into the car. As for getting an LT1 TA i dont really like the 4.1 gen firebirds/TAs all that much. in the near future an LT1 or an LS1 might go in there though
heres the pics (these were taken on the same day) :

did you read the thread where we were talking about costs to swap in a v8 to a v6 car? not worth it.
buy the car now, or be stuck with a v6 forever.
if i were you, i wouldnt have bought the car back, just move on and get something new.

my brothers friend said he could do it for about $8-900 all i have to do is buy the engine/tranny and wiring harness. thats a helluva lot cheaper then buying a whole new car. plus i like my car...
heres a whole LS1 drive train (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WS6-Z28-5-7-LS1-V8-ENGINE-TRANS-CORVETTE-LS7-LS2-LS6-GM_W0QQitemZ8070679452QQcategoryZ33615QQrdZ1QQcmdZ ViewItem) on ebay for $3,500 all i'd need to buy is the wiring harness and i'd have a (fake) 2001 formula :D
GP99GT
06-06-2006, 02:51 PM
engine, tranny, wiring harness...$3-6k there, plus the 6k youre paying to get it fixed, plus the car will never be as solid as it was again, plus the extra 1g to swap it, then you need v8 springs, probably a new driveshaft, a new rear, the list goes on and on. LS1 TA would end up cheaper in the long run
Savage_Messiah
06-06-2006, 03:00 PM
i could supply the v8 springs lol
Brandon please post up pics of the damage
Brando56894
06-06-2006, 03:26 PM
yea it looks good from the passanger side, but not from the driver's side
keep in mind matt that the money for getting it fixed isnt commin outta my pocket :) and after i posted the link to that LS1 i found another drivetrain with 77k on it for $1500. even if i needed to buy the wiring harness, new rear, and driveshaft (which i was gonna do anyway) thats what about 2 grand?? so for about 4 grand i could have it done. and if the frame is a little messed i'll just get them to straighten it and i'll have it reinforced with either aftermarket parts or have the shop do something...
yea shes hurt, this is the only section thats damaged but we think alot of the under lying **** is damaged too (the passengerside wheel is facing straight and is still connected but the drivers side is shot)....

i wouldnt buy an LS1 with 77k on it unless i was going to rebuild it.
brandon.......i have a red 98+ hood, and may have the headlight assembly/cover........i also have a set of stock silver camaro wheels, and since you will probably need front left suspension ill hook you up with the hr springs and spohn swaybars........
i can make it all one big package deal if your interested...

Can't any of you ppl. be nice. He got in an accident. Its called an accident for a reason, he didn't mean to do it. Personaly tho i don't think to do and LS1 drivetrain swap would be worth it. I was thinking of just doing an LS1 front clip swap on my 93 but i was convinced not to cuz of the amount of $$$ it would be. I say just get the body fixed, pull the motor make it a monster, then instal a rear-mounted turbo myb a lil juice and be done with it.

List
1.posi rear
2.lowering springs
3.get a liscence
4. be a better driver then brandon
No wonder why you dont have a ws6...I wouldnt have bought it back..but what ever, considering you could have gotten a 99 ish trans am, auto (cause you miss second..)for about 12 grand

thanks mike, but i think im gonna get the shop to do the majority of it and im gonna put a fiberglass ram air hood on there like ive always wanted. depending on how bad the damage actually is i guess depends on if i will keep it or not...
atleast ive only totaled one car where my brother has totaled three or four, one was directly infront of our house!

story now!
Brando56894
06-06-2006, 09:33 PM
theres a side stree almost directly infront of our house (maybe 10 feet to the left on the opposite side) and my brother was commin up that in my dads 87 monte carlo, so he figured he'd just swerve real quick from there into our driveway since it was late at night. so he checked both ways real quick, and proceeded to go, but what he didnt see was a mexican driving a dark colored small pickup truck (like a ranger or an s10) with no lights on. the mexican hit my brother and smashed the **** outta the fender, the monte is still sitting in our back yard (and has been for about 2 years) waiting to get fixed...

so just frm what's visible you'd need a new nose, hood, fender, fender rail, and at least drivers side suspension... then due to experiance  I'm gonna venture a guess that you also F'd your front bumper and mounts, radiator support, radiator, steering rack, and more... can u pop the hood for pics?

oh really? where at?
i actually might get a mid to (slightly) high milage formula or TA if my car is bad enough, paul might have another car
@kasey: theres really no damage that you can see under the hood, i finally got the bitch open cuz for some reason the hood release level wouldnt clear the thing that it latches to. i tried to take it off but didnt have enough room, i finally stuck a wrench in the and pryed it out and took the thing off. inside the only thing thats bent/messed up that you can really see is the fender rail..
