Heres the REason why it did-
I dunno even what to call these- some people call them "madman bars or Zbars" its a 3 link setup i guess, and it plants the tires reallly good. they have an adjuster bolt/nut which bolts up to the top of welded tabs on the axle tube. That sets and holds your pinion angle. however, when they broke, that caused my rear to point upward at a horrible angle. That caused the driveshaft to follow it and it only has so much movement with the u joints. and thats why the driveshaft broke! well, i called that company, they discontinued those bars in 1997!!
Good News though- There is a welding shop right down the street from me tho who specializes in auto welding/fabrication and exhaust. im going there tomorrow to have them make me some heavy duty boxed ones  Then the T/A will be out terrorizing the streets again...
