hey guys anyone know off the top of there head what an o2 sensor is suposed to read as far as a lean voltage and a rich voltage
the rs died on me again last night so i pulled the codes and got a 34(high vacum at maf sensor)
and 45 (o2 rich)
so i got a new maf reset the computer and the car still wont idle or run right
i checked the voltage from the o2 and its reading 1.50 volts at idle and if i rev it it reads the same.cant remebr if low voltage was rich or lean,

Shouldn't it be 0.2 volts for lean and 0.9 volts for rich..???

im not sure lol thats why i asked for some reason im thinking it suposed to be 0-5 volts but i may be thinking of something esle

dam i stand corected it is infact like 0-1.0 volts.now i gota figure out why mine is reading 1.5-2-0.is it possible for a o2 sensor to make that much voltage or could the line from the o2 to the ecm be shorted or grounded somewere?

0-5 volts i believe is for TPS . or MAF reading.
I'm 99.9% sure that the 02 sensor reading are between 0.2 and 0.9. if you're getting 1.5V........me thinks you have a bad 02 sensor or sensor wiring.

the sensor is cheap enough for you to just buy a new one, throw it in there and see the reading.......and if it's still reading 1.5V....you will know it's not the sensor. but it could be possible that the wire could be grounded somewhere or shorted out.
:stupid:
the O2 senseor only reads up to 1 volt. the higer the voltage reading the richer the motor is running. if the voltage is really low, then you're running dead lean.

ok new o2 installed and im getting 1.2 volts though,at idle it will drop to around .92 and if i rev it it will jump back upto 1.15.well i returned the maf i bought earlier.well the check eng light came back on after a few mins of running and i pulled the code.and only got the code for maf sensor.so its off to get another one.(new i shouldnt have returned it)the thing that gets me is with the high voltage my a/f ratio gauge reads dead lean, and when the voltage increases ity starts to show ideal/rich

lets see 1 o2 sensor
2 maf sensors
1 ecm
lots of harness checking
and 1 weeks time of going ***** nuts
and my whole ****ing problem was the dam qauge was internall shorted, once i disconected the gauge i was getting a 0.45 to 0.55 voltage readings.so i tested the lead from the gauge thats suposed to hook to the o2 and was getting 1.2 volts from that lead when it should have had 0 power at all.
thats alright now i have an exscuse to go buy a wideband 02 system
