Okay... I know it's been asked a BAJILLION times before, but since I've been searching around and don't want to buy the wrong thing, figured I'd put up a new post.
You all know I have a 3800II V6 1998 camaro.... what's the best setup for air intake?
Like, I know I'll need a whisper lid, the cold air intake thing on the bottom of the radiator, and a k&n air filter. But, which ones? I read somewhere in my research that the 1998 lid is different from 1999 and up? But yeah... since I'm working now and am starting to pull in funds, its time to start modding the heck outta my ride, and figure this is the best way to start, obviously.
Any help/suggestions/whatever greatly appreciated, even though its been asked a million million million million million etc etc etc, times before. Thanks :)

It's made by Madman in TX, last I heard you had to drive down there to have him install it for $500ish - he wasn't selling a kit.

SSRA,FTRA and SLP CAI are all the same except the SSRA is plastic and the SLP CAI is about half as long as the FTRA but they do sell an extension for it.
as for the lid, i wouldnt recommend getting a whisper lid i just noticed that when i was stripping my car it was comming unglued at the seems and ive only had it for about a year. also ive had alotta problems with it staying latched. i think it might be because my fram airhog is too big for it to seal correctly. kasey knows what im talkin about...

Thanks Justin- man, that thing looks SICK! That sucks that he's not selling a kit though- I'd kill to have that... and driving down to Texas is definitely a no-go... the mileage and the gas wouldn't be worth it, obviously.
Also... the smooth bellows- I know which ones you're talking about, but how many do you need? 1, 2? Obviously, since I'm blonde, I can get away with asking simple questions :)

K, awesome.... and i'm going to assume this is the bellows that I need? http://www.lmperformance.com/744/1.html Just wanted to check, because its only listed under "1998-2002 LS1 F-bodys", and not listed under the v6 section.
true... i'd need LOTS of help getting that thing together though. This = LOTS of BEER for anyone who'd be willing to help. I've never actually "worked" on my own car before- so, it'd be a first to do something that big. It's either that, or pay for it to be professionally done, and something of that magnitude I would imagine would = KACHING... KACHING.

Tim thinks he has a pretty good idea of what would need to be done in order to make it work.
I know someone who is planning on making the drive to Texas to have it installed by Madman, along with a few other toys. ;)

it may not work for you, since i believe the LS1 had the centeres exit on the lid every year, where yours is off to the side correct?
