I currently have LT headers with an ORY and I'm really curious as to how it compares with a catted y pipe. I am strongly thinking about going catted soon, as my car has reason enough to get pulled over and harassed nevermind my route I take to school, rt 30 by atco, is aparently a known check point for pollution control. Does adding cats really make the borla sound better? I LOVE the growl at idle, especially at a cold start, I just hope I don't lose that. How much quieter would it get? Also what are your guys opinions at switching over my catback to a GMMG while i'm at it? I could recoperate nearly the entire catback by selling my Borla.

do you have the passenger side tailpipe completely uncorked? if not throw the catted Y on there and fool around with the plates until you get the right tone.

My old roommate has a Borla with cats on his 02 T/A and it sounds pretty sweet.

put the cats on flanges so you can drop them out sometimes. :)

along with that make pipes with flanges to put in place of the cats.

Putting in dual 3" cats definitely knocked down the growliness of my LT1. But hearing Ron's 35th anniv GMMG car with dual cats it shows you can still get a really aggressive sound out of the LS1. He has the GMMG cat-back. I would do the cats, try fooling around with the Borla plates and then if that isn't good enough, go with the GMMG.

I'm with jeff.... also check into the stainless works setup mines pretty quiet on stock manifolds.ypipe but i also have all 3 mufflers on it they set up the system so you can pretty much take off either the one long chambered section or the 2 littler ones anyway good luck with whatever you decide to do

GMMG is a nasty sounding exhaust, I'd go with that instead.
