I'd first and foremost like to say I had an awesome time and thanks to everyone who set it up cause it was really a good time. And that bbq chicken was absolutely amazing, whatever sause that was on it was amazing lol.

Anyway so here is the best run of the day for me.

R/T ... 1.009
60' ... 2.441
330 ... 6.330
1/8 ... 9.478
MPH92.64
1000 ... 12.162
1/4 ... 14.439
MPH ... 99.26

Not bad I geuss for my first time at the track and I've only been driving for two monthes.

Mods are cat-back, intake, air foil, thermostat and shifter.

Like I said it was my first time so I did have some really embarassing runs but I geuss I got that out of my system now hopefully.

I did trap 100.49 MPH on a 14.5 run so I think my car is capable of a low 14 to high 13 once I get better.

Anyways awesome day today and thanks again to everyone.

Now lets see those times.

mph....73.14
1000...12.573
1/4.....15.082

Thats my best run going by ET...i had a few runs where i ran low 15.1's but at 91mph.

yeah...thanks to whoever organized that..i got in a nice 7 or 8 runs..which was awesome..

I ended up with a

r/t .860
60 2.361
330 6.160
1/8 9.222
mph 81.11
1000 11.812
1/4 13.999
mph 104.59

that was my best run..i need to learn how to launch..lol. that was also my second to last run..my last run would proably have been a 13.7 or so if i didn't **** up the launch because my 60ft was a 2.6 but i ran a 14.1 at 103.9.

side note...i love m6 ls1s because for that last tank of gas..including all of my runs and 200 miles...was only 9.5 gallons..so still a lil over 20mpg...racing with normal driving..lol.

I'm glad everyone had a good time. Thanks for coming out guys! I won't be able to check on this thread in the next few days cause i'm heading to atco in the morning, but i'll be back and hope to see some great times!!

btw, that bbq sauce is super secret homemade bbq sauce courtesy of some boys from paterson. When we have our Carolina Nationals they come up with big ass grills and make chicken, ribs, fish, any kind of 'southern' (read: soul) food. Its gooooood ****. We always make sure to take a gallon or so of their bbq sauce.

1) Best meet ever??

2) no personal best but it was all a string of 15.0's and 15.00's, all at 91 mph (i think a run or two trapped 90) with one big fuggup 16.4?? run, and my two last runs were 14.9s... one of them being a 14.015 where my PB is a 14.007... I WOULD have taken some **** out to try and recover those thousandths but somebody had to start a water baloon fight which led to a certain person aiming for me but hitting my intake manifold and drenching my coils, killing my ignition till it all dried out....... if you saw my extremely pissed at one point that was why  but oh well, s'all good... I have some things to do before next time at the track which should definately help :)

i didnt have a fbody to run or the g body either for that matter, but i did run what i did have, my STOCK(beat up, lol) 96 dodge Ram 2500. 5.9L Cummins Turbo diesel, auto, 4.10s, non-posi, bald tires basically too.
first run was 18.1 then i varied from 18.2-19.0. Then im my last run, I managed to put down a 17.96 @ 74mph. My main problem was launching, i either came off the line with too much boost and spun both tires or not enough and took too long to spool up. With my street tires i couldnt spool over 2100rpms on the line and even then id loose traction once i took off. And then it would shift into the next gear at like 68mph and fall on its face then. Oh well, it was fun regardless, and now i have baseline numbers to compare to after future upgrades(fuel pump plate, turbo-back exhaust, intake, injectors, and posi dually rear)

Just did the calculation and with 280 miles of driving (down to point pleasant, up to elmwood park, home, out to island, and 10+ passes) (crusing from 75 to 85 on three out of the four trips... above 3k RPMs) I still got 23 MPG... 4.10s FTW!!!

i could not hook up for ****, on a race day or rental i never have a problem at island. between the 10 days of rain and street tire people going through the water and doing no burnout it was a bitch.

Yucky times, but an excellent meet, probably the best. It was a really great opportunity to get some baseline runs in without feeling like a total tool in front of lots of people. I definitely have to work on that 60 ft. Haha.

Numbers:

R/T: .532
60': 2.1
1/4: 14.639
MPH: 96.64

This was .01 greater then my best time, but i did add a little weight to the back, JL stealth box and amp, next time i will have to lose some of that stuff.

Hey guys what a day we had .

To start the day off it took us almost 3 1/2 hours to get to Island Dragway. Traffic on the BQE was backed up from the Throgs neck bridge to the GW bridge. :x

When we arrived I got the dog out of the truck and onto his leach then unloaded the car. Then the family and I went to get something to drink when we were told we had to keep our dog in the truck. 90+ out when we arrived to the track WTF. I told the guy that Melissa said we were allowed to bring the dog but I had to keep him away from the stand and keep him on a leach which he was.

Then a few minutes later my son gets yelled at for riding his bike around the stand. He was so excited to have a wide open place to ride. It's not like he was ridding out in the parking lot. Oh well..

Moving along I tech in the car which went very smoothly and go back to get my fire jacket and up to the staging lane to make a easy pass to warm the car up and clicked off a blazing 12.37 @ 100.95 mph lol I made a bunch of passes which I was also having problems hooking but I knew it was to all the heavy rain and the track being closed due to the rain. My best pass which I can't find the slip was a 10.56@ 127 with a 1.49 60' and I also ran a

60' 1.53
330 4.377
1/8 6.778
mph 102.91
1/4 10.637
mph 127.20

The car was falling off big time on the top end of the track . I usually mix 93 and 100 octane gas which I did not have so I had to stick to 93 octane and I have a feeing one of my 02 sensors are bad.

It seems like my son got yelled at alot I believe it was Melissa mom who took her dog out of the camper to take it for a walk and my son saw him/her and got excited and let out a scream and she said " don't yell you'll scare him , He does not like that" Like the dog is not use to loud noise being at a track. Then a few Minutes later when some of the guys and girls were having a water balloon fight he dropped his bike on the grass and wanted to join in and was yelled at again for leaving his bike on the ground.

I think my wife and son was scolded more then that dude who came back the wrong way down the track. for what my kid and dog did would not have killed anyone but who knows what that car would have done if another car was coming down the track. :rollseye:

All I can say is that was our last trip to Island and we / I have no plans on returning. I was planning on making the East Coast F-Body Nationals with a bunch of the LIFBA guys who had a blast last year at the event. But that won't happen. I loved the track and the racing scene but I did not care for the staff...

that sucks that they were being mean to your kid. They should realize its a family environment and have been nicer to him..no reason to yell at him. Really nice car you have. by the way I was playing with your dog who seemed to be one of the most playful and most friendly dogs. And I was even talking to your son while playing with your dog who was really funny and a real nice kid.

*I was not at the meet so I cannot really say for sure* no one can tell you how to feel, or whether or not to come back, but you have to remember Kids/Dogs/anyone that is not paying attention or just not aware of their surroundings can potentially be hurt at an event like this. Cars moving about, small children or animals that cannot be seen, bikes that are left unattended can to damage to vehicles and people. I do not know what happened, but I have seen stuff like this happen at car shows and Atco. I would hate to have that post that someone or an animal got injured at a meet like that. I have gone to shows that kids who dont mean anything by it, try to open the doors to cars, or lean on cars to look in and have stuff on their hands, or what not. Ya know I am not one to care, Ice cream/candy/whatever can be washed off my car but other people flip a friggen ****! I enjoy kids, have no problem with them but damage to cars, and even the kids are possible. When ya run an establishment like a track, you gotta be on your alert because someone can be hurt at any time and with the way the system is these days the lawyers will have a field day and shut that place down in a heartbeat because everyone is so friggen money hungry and lawsuit happy. Like I said I cannot say what exactly happened but I have seen stuff like this before and sometimes its okay but other times it can cause big problems. I sure hope you are not turned away from NJFBOA because we are really a good group of people overall, but **** happens and if you are not happy I am sorry. I would hope to see you/your car/your family at other meets some day.

Or maybe just the people who blame the world instead of themselves. The fact of the matter is its not his track its melissas familys' and guess what, if they dont like what you're doing then they can tell you to stop because its theirs. its weird how no one else had problems that day - just him cuz his kid and dog were running around. i mean if staff was so horrible why didnt anyone else complain about the treatment? or maybe they just singled you out, wait that must be it!
