The all-new Acadia is GMC’s first crossover SUV, offering seating for up to eight and combining the capability of an SUV with a smooth, responsive and car-like driving experience. Acadia features a body-frame integral design that enables lower step-in height and the generous interior space of larger SUVs. A comprehensive safety system includes six standard air bags and standard StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with rollover mitigation technology.
Acadia is powered by GM’s 3.6L V-6 VVT, a high-feature engine with variable valve timing that is designed for good fuel economy, low emissions and exceptional smoothness. It is rated at 267 horsepower (199 kW) and 247 lb.-ft. of torque (335 Nm).* The engine is backed by a new, fuel-saving Hydra-Matic 6T75 six-speed automatic transmission. Acadia is available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models.
Fuel economy is estimated at 17 mpg in city driving and 25 mpg on the highway with FWD models and an estimated 17 and 24 mpg with AWD models. Acadia can tow up to 4,500 pounds (2,041 kg), when properly equipped.

Its a 2007, so I belive very soon. This and the Outlook, the Saturn version, look similar, but the GMC has a very cool looking front end.
This will most likely replace the GMC Envoy.

Too dark for my tastes, but otherwise very nicely done.

Only 4 years behind the Honda Pilot.. GM on the ball as normal. Always last to the dance.

Pilot is not a cross over, its a SUV ment to fight the Tblazer and Explorer.
These are Crossovers, and GM might be a little late to the party, but they are bringing the best presents.
More power, better trans, more room, better looking, still not a Honda.

I have a 2004 Honda Pilot EXl with DVD player - sound just like my car. AWD 250HP seats 8-9 people, the rear seat folds into the floor. (This has not changed since they came out in 2003)
All my everyday cars are Honda's Everytime a buy an american car for everyday use they suck.
Plus most american cars are built in Canada or Mexico. Honda, Nissan and Toyota most cars are bulit in the USA plus give an american worker a paycheck and the cars seem to last longer.
Besides Gm will be part owned by Nissan soon, that should be very interesting..

ok, i gotta ask. WTF is a "cross over vehicle"
every car company in the world is using this nifty little catch phrase to describe a variety of vehicles.

What do they "suck" at?
The Acadia will have 270hp, 6spd auto and AWD. And Id like to see the Pilot seat 9 people.
Cross over is a mix between a mini van and an SUV. As the Fullsize market dies down, the Crossover market is picking up, and GM is there to catch it all.

Uplander is just a regular Minivan. Not based of the new Lambda cross overs, no where even ****ing close.
Only 3 cars right now are scheudaled for Lambda, Acadia, Saturn Outlook, and Buick Enclave.

Better tell Chevy not to say its a cross over in all its ads then.

Meh, they did market it as a crossover to get away from the "minivan" name, but it is in fact, a minivan.
Crossovers ususaly have more of a truckish look as well as usualy equiped with AWD, but is FWD based. You can think of it as a jacked up Minivan, or a soft SUV.

my coworker has a pilot and its given her tons of problems. she always says its very underpowered and the motor is always under alot of stress whenever she has a full car. shes not the only person i know with a newer honda with many a problems. 2 of my friends have the newer accord that have given them problems.
its all a matter of luck. the japanese cars of the 90s were awesome! but now they cheaped out and are over engineered. i dont see them being any better then the americans in this day and age.

ok, i gotta ask. WTF is a "cross over vehicle"It is a tastier name for tall station wagon or short minivan. :)
A Pilot is not a crossover; it is as big as, maybe bigger, than a Trailblazer or Explorer. If this is GM’s target, they are not late to the game. Plus the Buick Rendezvous (I remembered the name) was out before the Pilot. Honda was late.
We have a loaded 2006 Pilot EX-L with 16k miles, and I am not overly thrilled with it (but my wife is). I will say I like it way more than our 98 Passport we traded in, but that is not saying much. I don’t like the way it drives, too much like a minivan. There is a bearing noise from the engine accessories when the AC comes on, and the DVD screen periodically squeaks like something is loose when it is down. It is going in for service next week. We’ll see if they help me out with the coolant line problem.
Beyond warranty, I think there are engineering issues with it that I do not like. Some examples:
· I am not holding the hole in the coolant line against Honda, but that frigging lines should not be so exposed. They are exposed on the ghey Ridgeline too, so anyone who says you can off road that thing is full of it.
· The gas door release is squished between the door & the seat – not enough room for my hand.
· The power window lock also locks out the driver from opening the other windows, not just the passengers. My Olds lets me still work all the windows even though the kids can’t. If you have small kids, this complaint will make more sense to you.
· My Olds’ basic stereo has better audio features, like adjustable midrange, better display, cd track time & speed variable volume. The Honda system is their top of the line for the Pilot.
· The DVD player in it is very finicky in what it plays., especially dvd-rs.
These day-to-day things sound like dumb complaints, but GM gets it right & Honda does not. And these are the details the magazines never mention but you have to live with.
I will say the active suspension components are neat. When it snowed last year I took it over the AMC theater lot and threw it around pretty good. Very easy to control it in a snowy mess. Props where props are due.
This is what I do during conference calls I don’t need to be on. :P
