DETROIT -- The Cadillac SRX (http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34039#) crossover, critically acclaimed for its innovative design in one of the industry’s hottest new segments, now borrows a page from Cadillac’s rich and elegant past. The 2007 SRX, launching in August, debuts a redesigned, hand-crafted luxury interior, bringing elegant Cadillac tradition into the modern world of the crossover vehicle (http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34039#).
The new SRX cabin utilizes Cadillac’s new “cut-and-sew” interior process that combines advanced technology with the hand-rendered precision of expert craftsmen. Coverings for components such as the instrument panel, center console (http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34039#) and door trim are cut, sewn and wrapped mostly by hand. This enables details such as decorative French stitching, and the near elimination of gaps and seams for a superbly tailored appearance. This is the same painstaking process applied to Cadillac’s limited-production STS-V and XLR-V models, bringing old-world craftsmanship into the heart of the luxury marketplace.
“The SRX is the latest and most complete example of our new approach to interiors, blending advanced technology with the hand craftsmanship that was once, and is again becoming, a Cadillac trademark,” said Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager. “This new interior adds to SRX’s compelling package of design, performance, luxury and value, within the practicality of a crossover vehicle (http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34039#).”

That is the old one....HUGE HUGE improvement. The interior was designed by the same people who make the Maybach interiors.

AMAZING difference, I've driven a bunch at work and the old (current, i guess) interior leaves you saying "it's nice and all, but ehh..."... I think this will change that

Yeah, the old SRX interior is from the CTS. Good quality, but just crappy design. Looks like a computer tower sticking out of the dash, complete with floppy drive.
The new one looks so much better. Now, Dexletmeter (forget the correct spelling of name) needs to work on an update for the STS's interior.

I really like the new interior. Doesn't look like a GM interior at all.

for some reason whenever i look at the front of any of the caddy's lately all i see is a big version of a few year old prelude.

Prelude? I think you two are too old.
Anyway, they did talk about a SRX-V, but they said there is no market for one....umok? 470hp Supercharged 4.4 Northstar V6 mated to 6spd auto and RWD, 20's and revised suspension tuned at Nurburing...hellllz yeah.

:gasp: Oh no! Somebody had something negative about GMfanboi's favorite car company
The headlamps don't look similar to a last generation Prelude?

what does my being old have to do with GM's styling department ripping off a honda front end?

Absolutely nothing but someone said something bad about his beloved GM so he had to attempt a witty comeback.

Oh would you STFU already, Jesus Christ(wait, can I say that? I don't want to offend you). The headlamps remind me of the Prelude.
I still stand by my statement. Are you on GM's payroll you biased fool?

lol, you crack me up al.
the front end angles in, starting just in front of the wheel well on both, both have large trapozoid(sp?) head lights. all the caddy would have to do is round the bumper cover instead of pointing it and they would be all the way there.
maybe you jsut need to take off the fanboi love goggles for a few minutes and look around a bit more. :p

OHHHHHHHHH look how the headlights match, well I guess GM is a buch of ******** for ripping off a headlight design...****ing ********!!
I mean, its almost the same!! Like, they are clear for light to pass through them...even though the Caddy's is much taller...and has an amber turn signal intergrated...And is a ****ing SUV vs a 2dr coupe.

Who said they were ******** you douche? Tim made the comment that the front end reminds him of a Prelude.

And Im saying you two need glasses. They are angled...but in no way shape or form do I look at a SRX and go "Oh ****, who jacked up that Prelude" cause no one does, cause it doesnt happen, cause you two are crazy.

Kinda does remind me of the Prelude a bit, the headlights and the general layout.
Regardless, even if it doesent, who are you Al? If they want to think it looks like a Prelude, then let them. Why the hell does it bother you sooooooo much when anyone has an opinion about a GM product that you post? Get over yourself man.

How much salary do you pull from GM? They must not pay well if you're driving a Malibu that likes like a bag of smashed ********.

Cause when someone walks outside and says "The sky is brown" and its clearly blue, then I have a slight problem with what is possibly going on inside of thier respective heads? People think its ok to kill and eat people too, but that doesnt make it right?

07-13-2006, 09:34 PM
So what? Who are you to tell people what they think is right nor not? Nobody, thats who. Maybe your actually the only one who really cares about these "new car update" posts that you make. If you dont want people opinions on them, then dont post them. Simple enough?

apparently it is only us here, the people i talk to about cars at work, and i am sure a few other loonies that aren't riding GM's nuts hard enough to cause a rash.
it was jsut a styling statement. you don't have to take it as some personal attack against GM and your undying love for them. i didn't say that they aren't nice cars and trucks or anythign of that sort, so there is no reason to get your undies in a bunch.

it wasn't something i payed attention to until i saw a prelude and a CTS parked next to each other when i was walking out of work one day.
the headlights are obviously similar, but also the angle that the hood and nose fall towards the grill and the way the fenders pull in to the nose/headlight area are very similar.

i'm sorry tim but this is just an odd statement right here. mainly because the prelude doesnt have a front grill
