it should! its the same company who makes both. i think it would be a good look for GM. its edgy and youthful, yet tame enough to steal the likes of V6 accord, maxima and even some german car owners. its too good of an idea for GM to use though. heaven forbid we do something to benefit the company

They do all those steps, only call it Lumina and sell them in the Middle East.
And if you can hold out for a little more, expect something like that to show up very soon, made here.
Holden will never be able to keep up with demand. As for it answering GM's problems, not gunna happen. RWD is not going to just save GM, but it could help bring in some added vehicles to stirr up the divisions.
They are very nice vehicles inside and out, and this new VE chassis is a going to be a great platform, but not going to save GM. I do hope that the Zeta car's hit the Detroit Autoshow big this year.

one could argue that the 300 saved Chrysler. GM needs a huge selling car that has widespread appeal that displays quality. its gonna give people good pre-concieved notions about the other cars

W bodies outsell the LX cars by a lot. Its not about sales, but about an image change and a impact car. Thats what they were for.

yes and a holden mid size wouldnt give us an image change? GM will always have the diehard customers

Actualy, the cars dont carry the same impact that the LX cars did. I still dont think that the RWD aspect of the cars added to its popularity, but the fact that its looks were so powerful and polarizing, that it could be said that if it was placed on a FWD chassis, it might have gotten the same reaction and netted the same sales.

HOLY COW!! If they make they here and the rear seat is big enough for my three boys I might have to skip the Charger for one of those. Finally a GM sedan that does NOT look like a GM car!

Doesnt look like a GM car? How does one know what a GM car looks like over a non-GM car? It is, in fact, a GM car, so it must look like like a GM car....
Al, they're just trying to say that if you look at all the GM NA cars and then you looked at that, you wouldnt think they were made by the same automaker. and I agree with jake, if that car was brought to the states looking exactly like it does there, it would be a very popular car.

Shrink down car selections and choices
Do we really need - Buick, Pontiac, Chevy and GMC. The dealers have started to merge now. Most Pontiac, Buick and GMC are the same dealer, bad enough walking into 1 car dealer now you have to pick from 20 cars.
I think GM needs to reduce it to 3 - 4 platforms
Chevy
Caddy
Saturn
Saab
Oh yeah build cars people will want now, not 4 years down the pike when no one wants them anymore.

Eh, I guess, but the same could be said about the Monaro. It looked nothing like anything in the states, but people still had problems with its design. High quality, high performance, but "It looks like a Grand Am" was all I kept hearing.
Anyway, I think it looks great. Very Audi'ish both in and out.
As for the PBG dealers, each division will have less and less product, but together have a full display. Pontiac wont have a big sedan if Buick does, and Buick wont have a midsized coupe if Pontiac does, etc etc.

i think where the GTO went wrong was when they overpontiaced it. i bet if you did a full monaro body swap, you would turn more heads, and as subtle as the changes are, ALOT more people would say they like it then the goat.

Only difference is the nose. I think that Pontiac needs a new design. The twin kidney grill thing is old. They need something new, but keep the same theme. I thought about the return to stacked headlights, something that ties to Pontiac's past, and to Caddy.
I still want a GTO like non other. I think that depending on funds and other things in my life, when the Maxx is up, I will be looking for a 05 GTO, in red or black with red leather interior. I drove a customer's 04 GTO the other day, and just the total package that the GTO offers is something that no other car, outside of the CTS-V, offers in GM's line up. Luxury, performance, and still some what fuctional for every day.
The Zeta cars will offer the performance and style that everyone is looking for.

Well most Pontiacs have similar styling. You can tell a BMW through their styling, same as a Caddy. Ever just sit in a car and think "yup -- cheezy GM interior". This one doesn't look anything like any American GM car (cause it isn't). An interior I actually like!
