hey gang,
i jsut wanted to put up a reminder here about our second anniversary meet coming up at island dragway in a few weeks. we have a great car show and plenty of racing action planned. check out the east coast nats forum for all the details and be sure to tell your friends.
we had a blast last year with around 100 cars participating, we plan to see even more this year. if you only make it to one club meet this year, this is the don not miss event.
i look forward to seeing you all out there
details are here ---> http://www.njfboa.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=32

Since I am coming back from Florida sunday morning.... are you allowing non f body's there?
Is the track exclusively rented out ONLY to f body's that day... or can someone show up in a non f body car... run time trials... not in the event?
The genie mobile might be ready!

Well, lets keep our fingers crossed. Weather channel predicts thunderstorms on the 20th, but still too early to call.

It actually did sprinkle just a touch for Tim and I on our way to the track last year.
I just checked weather underground, and they are saying mid 80's and partly cloudy. Wouldn't that be nice...

i looked at weather on 4 different sites. as of now they are all saying mid 80's(high around 84) and mostly sunny!!!!!
it is going to be a beautiful day, so no one has any excuse to not show up.

Maybe I missed it, but about what time is all this going to start on Sunday?
I could be there at 7 AM, but i figured I might be doing nothing for a while.

I know I won't be there all day. Probably show up mid morning, walk the show field, chat with some people, catch some of the racing, then head home. Gonna have the kids with me and I know they won't want to be there all day.

While I would love to go and hook up with you folks, I don't like what I'm seeing from weather.com for zip code 07838.
I take it there is no rain date?

there is no rain date.
anyone who is unsure about bringing their cars, please come and spectate. it is a great time and i am sure you would all rather see it in person than hear about the good times you missed monday on the boards. :)

I cant believe it. I hear rain pounding down upon my roof from 5-7am this morning. Check out the sky around 8-9 and it looks nasty. Check the weather for 07838 again. Rain/TShowers due by 1pm.
Screw it I say.
Now after sitting around for HOURS waiting on the RAIN it doesn't show.

I was only there for 2 hours with my kids, but really enjoyed it. Walked the show field, watched some racing, caught up with a few people I hadn't talked to in a while, and finally got my kids exposed to it all.
After everything we watched, the kids want to come back - because they got some lollipops from one of the volunteers (Genie?). So thanks for that - I have somthing to look forward to next year. :-) Wish I brought my camera because the look on their faces during the first burnouts we saw while sitting in the stands, was priceless.
Props to the NJFBOA crew who organized it and the volunteers who ran it.
