Photos Needed for Flyers and Calendar!!!!

hey gang,
as some of you heard diva is going to lend her talents to the club by helping to design up some flyers and a calendar for us. to make this possible and as high a quality as we would like we are going to need pictures of your f-bodies.

for the calendar there is a quality standard that has been recomended to us to help produce the best possible calendars: please try and get your images as close to 3375 x 2589 pixels. This results in an image about 11" x 8.5" @ 300 dpi and will produce the best results when printed. Images up to 20% smaller will work but may not reproduce as sharp. please use this standard when submitting pictures for consideration in the calendar.

for the flyers we just need to have quality pics. we would like to keep with the high quality of a 300dpi image, but smaller sizes are acceptable.

we can use pics of individual cars or groups of f-bodies(we prefer group pics that are from our club events). pics without people in them are also prefered.

along with your pictures please send the following information:
1. your full name
2. your user handle
3. make/model+trim level/year of your car(s)
4. any specific mods, performance specs, or other pertanent information you think we should know about your car

please send all pics and information to pics@NJFBOA.org

by submitting your pictures you are giving us permission to use them. so only send us stuff if you are ready to be famous all over teh interweb and beyond :D

When do the pics have to be submitted by? my current camera makes pics 2592x1944, if larger is better than ill hunt down someone that can take larger pic but my car isnt up and running just yet.

if you have lower res than whats stated above, i can still use them, but not for a feature picture (like the one at the top of the calender) but they can be used for filler and for a collage that i will probably put at the back. Feature pictures will need to be high resolution, because once they are printed its very obvious which pictures are a lower resolution than needed. I will bring two calenders that i did for nastyz28 to any upcoming meets that i will be at for people to compare to and see what i'm talking about. the difference isn't obvious on the computer screen but is very obvious in print.

I know a lot of people don't have access to a 6 or 7+ mp digital camera, which i think is what would be needed to take images that large, so send your best shots in anyhow so we don't come up short.

Also, believe it or not, pictures taken with film can be used and scanned in at a very high resolution (the equivalent of 15 mp or higher) so if anyone has negatives that I can scan I can use those too. PM me for more details on how to get them to me.

Im going to try to take a few pics this weekend. Let me know if I can help in anyway getting this calendar together. I do work for a printing company, and I assistant manage the pre press department. I have access to about 10 G5 Mac's, all loaded with the latest and greatest software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark, etc.). Let me know!

not really. we are looking to feature individual rides. nice pics with other f-bodies in the back ground would work, but general group shots can't really be used in the format we are shooting for.

My camera can only do 2048 X 1536 pixels. It might do more but that image is already over a meg in size. If you are interested I'll gladly send in some.

Edit: just read the thread and submitted the original of my avatar. Maybe I'll wash / detail her and take a full range of pictures exterior / engine / interior.

we are looking for pics for feature cars in the calendar and also for use in club flyers. the bigger and higher quality the pics the more we can do with them.
if anyone has trouble transfering pics due to file sizes or anythign please let me know. we will work something out to get the pics. :)

They happen too. We took alot of pics at the Duke Island meet of just about everyones cars. I see plenty of request for photoshoots in the north but there hasn't been anything big recently.

Im defenitly thinking of setting up some sort of cruise to a location for pictures but it'll be up north of course.

So far we've received close to 70 pictures, and most of them look really nice. Only about 6 different people have sent in pics large enough to use for the calendar, so if you have access to a camera that can take shots large enough, please get those pics into us ASAP!

Also if you have a camera that is capable of taking shots like this, and you are willing to meet others in your area to take pictures of their cars, please post up and let others know.

We are still a few pictures short....I think we are up to 8 different people that have submitted pics that we can use now.

Melissa is busting her tail getting the calendar for NastyZ28 finished up, and once that's done, all she will have to do is plug in our pictures and make a few other small changes, and then ours will be done too. In the meantime, you all need to get out and take more pics! :D

They're from my gallery and I sent these Fall F-body Fling, AutoX and F-body Nationals Dragstrip photos to Tim in the mail today on DVDs. So they're bout 3008x2000 resolution. Late submission, yes, may not get in for the calendar but I think I got one or two that could make it.
