View Full Version : WARNING to anyone going 206 south through Bordentown

The Township police are doing their mobile inspection check point today. If your past your inspection date, or have trouble passing emissions due to any reasons dont take 206 South. When I drove the Z they would ALWAYS target me. Any vehicle that looks remotely fast, has a loud exhaust or whatever will most likely be stopped. Just warning anyone in the area for today. Any other times this happens I will post up to hopefully save some of you a hassle.

They did this BS at the firehouse across from my house yesterday. I stopped home at lunch and they must've had at least 30 cars in there. Friggin fundraisers.

yeah its really grimey where they do it too, you come over a bridge kinda thing and then its RIGHT THERE as you come over it infront of the police station. There is a small turn off that I would take at like 60 MPH in the Camaro just to get around it sometimes if I could get over fast enough. Most of the time you done even see it till youre past the exit. I could never make the turn in the truck now, but that thing is legal...for now.

Thanks for the heads up... pardon my lack of geographical knowledge, but where is bordentown in relation to say, lawrenceville, on 206? Further south?

Tsar, they've been up north plenty of times. I've strolled right through before, not with what i've got, but with no front plate, loudmouth, etc... There's no scientific info on what cars they pick, but when the cop stopped me and walked up to my car, all he did was look at the inspeciton sticker and said have a ncie day.

Bordentown is south of Trenton, so if you are in Lawrenceville you are far from it.

Out of curiosity, where besides bordentown has anyone else ever seen one of these?

The one by my house (Marlboro) is set up usually 5-6 times per year. They do it there because it's a high traffic 2 lane road, and the firehouse has a huge parking lot where they just pile them in. I know I've seen them other places, but can't think of them off the top of my head.

Florham Park does it from time to time, on Ridgedale Ave, a few blocks north of Columbia Turnpike. I think they do it mostly on Mondays to catch the people going to / from the McDonalds cruise in FP during the summer months. In winter, they couldn't be bothered.

RT206 south near Hamilton/Princeton area right before the airport, RT46 west near El Coyote in Roxbury/Port Morris area, little further down the road in Newton before the Corvette museum... think that's it. I've seen a diesel emission testing place on RT46 west near the firehouse in... well i dont know what the town is, Mt Olive?

aside from being inspected at weigh stations when I drive the big commercial trucks, I ran into a seatbelt inspection roadblock a few miles from my house. Real sneaky too cause you come over a slight hill and by the time you see them, no chance of putting the seatbelt on in time.

Yes the cops in south jersey are a fun group of people. They always got sneaky ways of getting every last penny out of people with greatly planned positions to set up those inspections. They never got me even when i had my Blazer with the 33" tires and rusty body thou.

I have defenitly seen "seat belt check points" In Hawthorne on Goffle Road, Paramus Road in Paramus, Fair Lawn Ave in Fair Lawn, and Godwin in Wycoff/Midland Park.

Just a heads up to the North, they are stepping up DWI check points towards the end of this month, so expect to see them on the main roads in each town in Bergen/Passaic county. Im sure they would love to ticket you for other things even if you are driving straight.

No offense but wearing your seatbelt is the law. Why would you not wear it?

Werd, always have the belt on. I heard that there was one in Wall area. I know they have the DUI/DWI checkpoints around the Asbury Park cirlce all summer long, getting people coming out of Belmar heading back twards the parkway.

On our way to seaside from bordentown we passed a DWI checkpoint just before the jackson outlets, and again, it was right at the bottom of the hill so you didn't see it til it was too late. but then again, we hadn't been drinking.

No offense but wearing your seatbelt is the law. Why would you not wear it?Its the law in PA also but Ive never worn them and never will.Ive been driving for 26 years. Its very annoying and uncomfortable. The cop made me put it on before he let me pull away and I removed it shortly afterwards. Its very annoying and uncomfortable.

I think that line of thinking is flawed, but you do you, and Ill do me. Ive been driving for 5 years and have never had a problem with a seatbelt. Only one that is sorta sucks to have on is the bolted-to-the-roof chest belt that is in my 72.

I bet you wont do much of that when both of you have your heads smashed through the windshield. I agree that everyone should wear their seatbelt but I dont agree it should be a law. If you wanna do something to yourself, and it in no way affects other people's lives, then do whatever you want.

its ok you can die with a seatbelt on too. and yes it should be up to me if i want to wear a seatbelt or not. **** ive seen people drive with helmets on the highway, i guess they were trying to protect their almighty nerd brain. should they make that a law too? or maybe get you one of those nascar thingies so your neck is stable in a crash? you know so u cant sue for whiplash or some****.
