cracked block or possibly a defective head gasket. :(

Defective head gasket, not using sealer on the headbolts, warped head or deck surface on the block.

Were the heads checked prior to install?

HEY -- the angle of the head verses the intake --- the water can enter from under the bottom of the gasket in the front if the motor was a complete unit -- if it was not and all the parts are from different motors than the angles are at fault ( note ) #1 did you glue the intake down ? #2 did you put anything on the head gaskets when installing ( anything ) #3 a head gasket will also almost all the time leak into the cylinders #4 i have a pump for radiator if you need to check AFTER YOU PUT IT BACK TOGETHER it will do no good now as it is already going to the pan --- my guess its the intake angles and or gaskes seal but you did not say if you knew the motor was a good one from the start -- jz

ouch, everything people said is a good possibility. My dad recently had the same problem with his 93 pickup, pulled the heads and saw they were done once before and whoever layed the gaskets down had em on backwards

Also this may sound stupid but do you have a oil cooler that is cooled by the coolant. A bad oil to water cooler could be a problem too.

That sucks jon. I hope you fix it quick. It sucks when you do all that work and have problems right away. Good luck with it.
