I was on my way to my family business down here in Newark and saw the coolest thing. I was stopped at a light with 3 cars in front and 2 cars behind me. All of a sudden a new dodge ram truck comes flying up next to me in the on coming traffic lane. They stop when they see a cop and back up. The light went green and as soon as they passed the cop on the side of the street they took off passing traffic on a one lane each way street. The cops went flying after them. they were blowing through lights like they weren't even there. I couldn't keep up to see what happened and then 5 min later there were 4 helicopters flying over the shop not sure if they were news copters or police.

anyone hear anything on the news....

it was near south orange ave I guess. I got off the parkway at exit 144 which isn't my normal exit I get off at 280 normally exit 145 but it was backed up because people don't know how to ****ing merge. I think I got off onto maple, but I turned and I think came down 15th street or something. I was near the Home Depot.

i used to hang out with those guys...they mainly go to the track now, the whole area we set up racing was taken over by townhouses, LOL.

the ricers took over Ave P and pissed off the cops (they never bothered us), so that spot is a no-no...

glad i retired, but i do miss the hours of arguing and watching the races8)

sorry to sound so harsh, but it makes me angry that 1) as a black man, these guys shed negative light on me and black men like me; and 2) I hate car thieves to no end. they had a couple of small races the past couple of weeks..nothing serious...by boys were telling me about it...one was a Malibu the other was with a Mustang...both races were against guys from Jersey City...i guess i'll go to smallblockposse.com and get more info

honestly i think ive heard "10 second honda" more times in my life then i've been called an *******. and that happens on pretty regular basis. The only single digit car i've seen on the street was WOTM Supra (Best 1/4 8.62@171.28mph) but i'll bet my right testicle and ill give my word that i will never piitb without her permission that he was not running full boost on the street. Now here someone claimed that there're some 7 second cars running in newark and after seeing melissas car run at island 7.99 or something i must say that was pretty fast. I never said they race in the streets of Newark, either. the cars usually get trailered in, trailered out to the highway and back on the trailers after the race. the cars are serious race cars, but for whatever reason...hostory i guess, they risk racing them on the highway. the 7 sec cars I spoke of were from out of town, both tube chassis cars with big blocks and nitrous...the owner of one of them races an 8 sec car regularly at the track now and does not get involved in street racing anymore. same with the few 8s I've seen...track only cars (except for one yellow GN that came from either NY or JC, not exactly sure, it was about 13 years ago) that were trailered in from as far away as the Carolinas...

some of these races were for 60 and 70,000 dollars, so is it really hard to believe that race cars came to run?

Big Simon's Cadillac ran 9's on the bottle and he got spotted a few times...**** was for real back in the day. I don't watch nowadays, too much for me to lose, realized the risk isn't worth it and most of those guys lock up races at the hole and run at the track anyway...

maybe you're right, they probably didn't run their numbers on the highway, that's concievable, but the facts are the facts, the cars existed

well fyi ive seen a turbo mustang (chevy motor) run REAL good, and be driven to and from track,raced on the street/track quiet as a mouse pumpgas too..

chickenlittle, the funny thing is everyone was poppin **** about the brown hatch breakin up on the highway and sputtering, that night they seen the car leave right and it was a whole new story..its not fast at all its a true stoc bottom 302 hyd roller,factory pistons,factory rods/crank/oiling system impressive little 302 ....they will probley get it down sooner or later right now my car is down i had to do some tire fitting...

Theres a flat 9 Sec Civic turbo up in Bergenfield. Its daily driven by my cousins friend and professionally built for upwards of $50 or $60 grand by some famous import shop. He drives it daily on the street and can run about a 10 on the street without the boosted Turbo PSI. (I think he runs 12psi on the street and 30 on the track) Granted it gets 6mpg but he can still run 9's on the street if he wanted. So that statement is completly untrue.

i know they used to go down to the end of 440, but it was called another number...139? 168? I dunno, but I saw a prety bad accident where a drunk chick in a Buick Century wagon didn't wanna wait for the lanes to clear and went the wrong way up the highway and got hit head on by a Civic racing an S2000...he was doing at 70 on impact...pretty bad.

as far as the shooting, pure genius. gave up 2 lives for 500 bux. hope it was worth it. :rolleyes:
