View Full Version : Learn to drive! Bad 4th gen driver on 95/295 yesterday

Ok, a bit of a rant.

I'm coming home from work yesterday on rt295/95, with my boys in the back seats. A young lady in a white 4th gen firechicken (with a dent in the hood by the nose) drives right up on my bumper. Now, I'm doing almost 80 (that is the flow in the left lane), and the cars right in front of me are too (as in the road is pretty crowded-its 520pm). I got nowhere to go on the road, so this goes for 2 miles leading up to rt. 1. (Yes, I always am in the left lane on that part of the road at rush hour– it is really the safest part of 95 until you clear rt 1 – too many idiots jockeying for exits)

As soon as I’m clear to my right, I signal and start to move over, but miss hot pants can't wait and flies by on the right. Um, ok, don’t worry about that turn signal or car moving into the lane in front of you. From my new center lane vantage point, I watch as she tries, mostly in vain, to weave in and out of traffic. At one point, I watched her change from the center to the left lane. The move was so sloppy that she pushed the LH tires over the line and into the rumble strip. The car floated around pretty good - hey, how about some maintenance on the POS?

Then, to my surprise, she gets off on the same exit in Hamilton as I do, and I am only a car behind. So much for her ‘spirited’ (as in stupid) driving. It got her nowhere. Then, to top it off, waiting for the traffic at the light for the AMC, she decides to change lanes quick as she thinks the right lane will be faster. Wrong. Now, I take the jughandle there, so I go around the jug and get the green. But guess who is blocking the intersection? You got it. Miss in-a-hurry. With a nice dent in the lower RH fender. Hit stuff a lot? Big surprise.

So, in a matter of <10 minutes and < 5 miles, I watched this broad speed and tailgate on a congested highway, block an intersection, and otherwise drive beyond her skills and the capability of her car. In other words, she put the lives of me & my kids, and everyone around her in jeopardy to try to save 90 seconds. Nice work.

If the driver is reading this, please turn in your license, you drive like a complete idiot. And you give f body owners a bad name. Did you save that 90 seconds? And your car sucks – but at least I understand all the dents. And your NJ plate is RGN8...

Life is too short and **** happens to fast to drive like that. Grow up honey. The life you end may not be your own. It could have been these guys, or anyone else:

PS: Imagine how this would have read if I typed it yesterday when I was all pissed off.

\rant off\

it usually ends up that the person in a rush ends up only a car length in front of the people they were weaving around.. Always funny to look over at the light when they end up next to you..

True. The move to the right lane on Sloan Ave didn’t work either. The car she cut in front of got right behind her after the light went green again.

Go back through some of the old threads on this board. You'll find all kinds of stories about stupid **** on the highways - usually done by members of this club. :?

don't worry, her driving will come back to haunt her sooner than you think...

Ha. With the kids in the car, my aggression level drops dramatically.

I see that **** all the time when I worked in fairfield (rt46 east is a damned JOKE with some drivers...), people driving like ****heads, only to end up RIGHT in front of me at the light. Oh wow you saved 5 seconds of a commute. Try waking up just 10 minutes earlier and you'll be a much more relaxed person on the commute to work. I hear you on that rant buddy.

i watched an aggresive driver switch 2 lanes of traffic last week and force a female-driven xterra directly behind me onto the grass beside the NYS thruway. the xterra had to swerve back onto the road to avoid a pole, and to my suprise she got the car straight again. that lady was amazing, i dont think i could have recovered the way she did without hitting anything and keeping it on the tires. and much to my surprise, the aggressice driver was a hasidic jew.

i have a feeling she's lucky you had your kids in the car! i'm going 80 on the parkway in the morning and getting past like i was standing still. some peop-le need to leave a little earlier so they don't have to drive like idiots.

80 isn't slow.
for you its fast, for me its not. so if im driving down the left lane, why dont you move over to the right like you're suppose to. and there will be no problems. i cant see why some people dont get this simple concept.

You are missing the point. This was during rush hour. The whole left lane is doing ~80. There are cars on cars, no where to go; even if I moved there are 5 cars right in front of me, and cars on the right as well, problably going 70-75. It's not like one person was hogging the left lane. I hate left lane larrys as much as anyone, I see them everyday too.

In heavy traffic that is flowing at almost 80, going faster and weaving & lane changing is stupid and dangerous. No matter how good you think your car is and how good of a driver you think you are. It only takes one wrong move by some other idiot to screw you too.

ehh i was responding to baddest434 about getting passed on the park way doing 80. i know its retarded to weave in and out of traffic during rush hour. and i was not arguing that. i think you need a happy pill :)

so true. i hate the weavers more than anything else.
and i'm doing 80 in the middle lane trying to keep up w/traffic and still getting past on the left and right during morning rush hour on the parkway. for some reason some days are worst then others.

I can't stand people that drive like ********. I ALWAYS make sure they KNOW they made an error and then try to pull up next to them at the next available stop. They usually look over quickly very angry at first, and when they realize they are staring at a blacked out window and I could be a murderer, they calm right down and stare straight ahead

a girl driving a 6 cylinder 4th gen camaro (i'm guessing the 3.4, it was very quiet, dark blue) on 95/295 didn't look, didn't signal, nothing, and almost ran into me as i was driving in the left lane, she was trying to get in there too. I guess I was in her blind spot. She ran me past the rumble strip, my left tires nearly on the grass of the median. I'd have dodged to the right if i wan't already half way up the side of her car when she tried cutting over, or if i had room in the right lane at all to brake and get over. luckily no one was behind me in the left lane, which gave me room to brake and drop back, remaining in the left lane. I was laying on the horn. She jerked back over to the right, almost hitting the other car that essentially prevented me from going to the right, and then she continued to bob and weave through traffic. or try to, anyway, it basically got her no where.
