cam = 241/249@.050 .525/546
bowtie raised port heads fully ported
2.02/1.60 manley stainless valves
port matched victor jr intake
holley 750 dp
110gph fp

And hedman shorty headers and a dynomax 2.5 catback.

That is a big cam, is this a street car?

You got the raised runner head and you want to run a shorty header? That exhaust is only going to kill that whole setup. Get a real size exhaust for it. Get the heads flowed at a good shop and have them help with a cam. This is the best way to figure this out. You are probably going to need more compression with those heads also. You are going to need a decent gear with that setup especially if the car has any weight to it. Probably need at least 4.10 with a decent size tire of 28 inches tall. I would make sure you get a good fuel pump and that carb might need to be worked on a little to work on those heads, depending on how everything flows. Just remember everything needs to work together and be matched to maximize performance.

wait wayfast u have shortys? u didnt tell me that, veg i actually bumped the cr back upto almost 10.5-1 should be fine on pumpgas as long as he keeps the timming conservative, considering we run 12.3-1 on one of out 440 motors and that thing has never had anything more then pumpgas in it.wayfast thos eheaders deff arent gonna work, when u told me u had headers i thought u had long tubes.

If you are really gonna go through with buying this motor, I would go with a more mild setup than what you have plans for in that first post.

Maybe stick with a set of Vortec heads (great heads, cheap pricetag), and look into Comp Cams Xtreme Energy line of cams.

remember with that motor your going to need to beaf up the rest of the drive train, stock stuff isnt going to cut it.

mine is 355 4 bolt 74 block, scat crank, stock rods, 9.5 speed pros, world products sportsman 2 heads, comp cams 520,540 lift cam (solid),prof prod cross wind manifold, roller rockers, msd e curve dist, 600 dp holley. so far 11.99 in full weight 74 z very sim to what you got goin on

ive found hime a diff manifold.its a dualplane manifold that fits those heads.instead of 9.7-1 im gonna bump it to 10.0-10.3-1,cam im still looking into but i gota know what hes gonna do about those shorty headers, and his rear gears and his converter first

WayFast84

Im getting long tubes probably hedmans inless I can get a trade for some other long tubes, I am gonna do true duals with high flow cats to reversed glasspacks. eventually. I need to know what cam and gears to buy. they will also be changed

what size primarys are the headers?

what size primarys are the headers? no clue yet.. I need some cheap headers that arent cheap

edit probably theese

HOK-2138HKR

from summit

I gotta sell my headers and things first

project89

gota find either steped headers,or something with atleast 1 5/8ths primarys.best bet would be 1 3/4 + single 4 inch ex system.Duals with rear exits are gonna be costly

i do have a set of 1 7/8th headers but there gonna be a lil bit on the large side

edit
those are to small wayfast "HOK-2138HKR"

I agree with Savage EGR.

Just go with a nice 3” system. You goofball. You have to stop thining about this stuff.

I still don't think that a dual plane intake is the answer. Those heads are gonna kill the velocity of incoming air at lower RPM, which will keep the motor from being very streetable, which is what he posted up that he wants.

You can easily build a motor that will run 12s in a full weight thrid gen and still be plenty streetable, but I doubt it with those heads. You need a cam, heads, and an intake that are all designed to make power in the same RPM range in order to make a combo work. Those heads are designed for high RPM horsepower, so sticking a dual plane and a mild cam on them aren't gonna do crap for streetability. It'll most likely just run like a turd.

so match the rpm together. as long as I can run it on pump gas and drive it to the track with out breaking anything.

NJSPEEDER

what do you consider driveable?
what do you want to run?
how long do you want to be able to go between engine freshenings?
do you know how to set solid lifters?
how big of a stall do you wanna put up with on the street?
how much gas do you wanna buy to get to and from teh track?
what gears are you running? and when are you getting the 12bolt?
are you gonna have the 700r4 built or go with a different built trans?
you gonna use a trans brake?
how far are you from the track/tracks you wanna run at?
got AAA?

you can see that there are a lot of questions left out there if you wanna buy a motor that is made to spin to 7000+ rpm. the biggest question should really be, what kind of a warranty/guarantee are you getting with this motor?

Id like to know before one more thing we discuss about the motor.

If their is non I want one of the threads locked and we need to THINK a while.

I honestly dont care if I get the motor now or next year. YOU(lethal rides) NEED to figure this **** out, and I need OTHER people to say its a good streetable combo.

Im sorry that i have to say this but NOT ONE person said to get the motor yet to me personally.

its not a good streetabe combo

start smaller, wait for a better deal. you have to crawl before you can walk or run..
