Fan switch

Well my fan temp sensor went in my Camaro today and after haveing to drive it home a 280* I decided it was time to throw another computer hassel out the window. Bought myself a nice toggler switch and made my electric fan function on a switch. Take that ECM one less thing I dont have to do when i get rid of you!

Did you use a relay or did you run the power wire right to the switch?

A new switch is what, $20. :)

i ran a toggle switch on my 88 gta it has a duel fan set up one fan was hooked up with a toggle switch one wire from the battery to a fuse from the fuse to the switch then from the switch to the red wire on the fan the black wire was grounded it works perfect and its easy to install

I ran from the battery to a fuse to the switch. Ran the power back to the fan and grounded the switch. Yes you can turn the fan on when the car is off but that can be fixed easily by pulling an ignition power source.

PS: Where is one of those damn ignition power sources?

This is basically how GM wired your fan. Except the trigger circuit is reversed. The switch completes the ground (85), and a fused 12v source to 86. If you insist on a switch, run the ground to your trigger instead. Or, replace the switch (or is the realy bad?) and add a switch to the circuit.

Hmmm I think I turned my head sideways trying to understand that diagram... Anything beyond a simple electrical switch boggles me...

I used to have tha same problem on my camaro 1991 Z28 305 tpi a year a go.
I put the fan switch to the water pump.
The fan switch is located at the motor head on the passenger side, don't be confused w/ the ESC sensor.
