if you take the points it'll prolly be around $200 or so if you get it down graded it'll prolly be around $400

talking down tickets is teh same all over kasey. the towns are more interested in your money than your driving habits.

The bright side is that all out of state moving violations transfer as 2 points.

yes, any out of state ticket is only 2 points here in NJ,
i got one also from VA like 2.5 years ago.. speeding 80 in a 65, i wasnt gonna argue with the cop. I called up the number on the "ticket" it was i think 90 something, i sent the payment and that was it. A little over a year or so after that i had a few cops check my license and i had no points anymore(2 come off every year if no new moving violations). This winter it'll be 3 years and it'll finally wipe the last of my insurance points away(those last 3 years)

when i go out to Detroit to visit my sister, i really disregard the speed limit in since MI is one of 4 states or so that dont transfer ANY points to the other states.

That's true for NJ, but you are a South Carolina resident, correct? Check with your local laws....

wow...that's a big break, considering reckless is a 4 or 5 point ticket in NJ...contesting stuff out of state sucks because it's, well, out of state. that might still crush you on your insurance points however if you don't contest it

Did you have a detector/did the cop see it?

Two years ago a few friends and I drove down to florida for spring break. Well, we got caught in GA doing 110 in a 75 and had to follow the sheriff back to his station and pay a $400 ticket on the spot or sit in jail for $25/day till the ticket was paid off. So I guess thats the same thing that you heard since the car would obviously be impounded if we sat in jail for a few days.

Yeah, mike was there. "Sheriff Bill Smith" took all our liscences and said it'd be a bad idea to try and run as they sandwiched us between two squad cars following em back to the station. We had it coming though. Becuase we were doing 110 for at least an hour and a half. Surprisingly we had 2 cars followin us most of the time too. One was a red 300zx and I couldn't see the other since it was 1am. We had the cruise control set at 110mph since south carolina as the limiter shut off the car at 111mph (Caddy DTS). We were trying to make up loads of lost time for flat tires and waiting for people to get out of class along the way.

OneFast: good thing you dont live in VA then, glad its not too bad of a price to pay.

79dizzy: What ever happened to the other cars?

The 300zx got off at a rest stop about 5 mins before we got pulled over. The other car slowed down right after we passed the rest stop. I guess we should've taken that as a sign that something was up
