I saw this on the news this morning. I've been to that diner a couple times. Wasn't too crazy about their food. Anyone how the fire started?

looks to be from the boiler room but deffinatly in the basement, employees complained it was very warm in the building all day n then the smelled smoke and called the FD. heavy smoke was showing upon arrival and the windows were all blown out but no visible fire, just before a water source was connected they ordered all FD to evactuate the roof and building and the fire blew up and was fed by a ruptured gas main after the floor colapsed, the owner says he will rebuild

Went by it on my way home from work tonight. Fencing is up already and it looks like they are gutting the place. Was a good place to eat. Anybody go to Matthews in Waldwick?

on an update, dinner was obviously open at the time of the fire, customers originally refused to leave and paramus pd forced them out and made them move all their cars, PPD did an awesome job clearing the way for the fire trucks and personel. owner said on ch7 news he plans to rebuild
yeah, i went by today just as they started to unload the fencing, Once its rebuilt, i'm definately gonna stop in

Maybe the food was good? If I was there and really enjoying my food, I would have grabed my plate and gone outside, ate & watch.
