bleh all sorts of **** happened yesterday, first my cable ineternet goes out, then my computer acts up,then the dam cable tv goes out.
well this morning i droped the 3.4 in the car, around 4 pm im ready to fire it for the first time and drive upto the track.so i goto fire up the car,and it wont start, look around and i forgot to plug one of the connectors onto the dizzy,so i plug it in and the car fires right up.so i kick the idle upto 2,500 to break in the new cam.after a few seconds i hear some grinding noise comming from the passenger side valve cover.so i shut it down and pull the cover.well i had installed 1.8 ratio rockers instead of stock 1.5's.turns out i hadent clearnced the heads
enough in 2 spots and the pushrods were rubbing the heads.so i get to pull the motor disassemble it,remachine the heads and check all the bearings and **** to make sure no aluminum from the heads got in there.at this rate ill never get this dam thing running
</rant>:( :( :( :(

though atleats im glad i just didnt close the hood fire it up and drive up to island cause for sure i would have something break, cause i sure as hell wouldnt have heard the noise over the radio or ex system

no.but when i set the heads up in the bridgeport to mill them for clearnace,i must not have had the one head perfectly square in the machine, which would account for the the 2 pushrods not having enough clearance, though im gonna machine both heads again just to be on the safe side so they have extra clearnace

That would be the easy way out. You don't learn anything if you don't try. Doing the work yourself is part of the reward.

next time i just get a cam with more lobe lift,so i dont have to use a really high ratio rocker, though this seems to be the only way to achieve over .625 lift on a 60* motor.
with the 1.8 rockers i get .639 lift,had i used 1.5's alls i would have had was .533

just read your sig. Why t56, and a t76 is more overkill than going squirrel hunting with an elaphant gun.

project89

t56 cause i wanted a stick instead of an auto, and a t5 isnt worth a dam.though mting the t56 to the 60* motor isnt working out to well,i had an adapter plate made, and a spacer to space the flywheel out far enough, but im still having trouble comming up with a clucth that will work.so i was just keeping the auto for now.the t76 is a lil overkill, but it will work well in the rpm range im shooting for on this engine, though a slightly smaller turbo would have been a lil better suited,i couldnt find one for the price i got on the t76.i got a steal anda half on it

Im not trying to start something but..

Maybe you need to slow down, it sounds like your rushing things, and just using parts you can get for cheap.

Im willing to bet the car wont last 2 months till something else happens.

By the way things are going with you it seems like youll never have a car that will run and last for any period of time. so i wouldnt talk about how somebody needs to slow down, everybody makes mistakes kidd.
