That all depends on the condition of the car and components. Everything else on the car? A late vette engine for a TA??? Sounds hokey to me.

But a roller 2nd Gen TA in good condition with everything else on it (small amount of rust) can run you $2000 on up depending on how good the interior is. If the car has everything AND it can run if the engine was in it, then it'll be more than $2000 - more like $4000. The late 2nd Gens are coming u pin price, however most of them are either already restored or in "project" shape. There are fewer and fewer drivers out there.

You really need to see this thing out of the garage and in the daylight to make an offer, othrewise you might just inherit someone elses' failed project.

You just buying to resell? Or have plans for a 2nd Gen? Or just looking for something different to wrench on?

If you end up with this thing, lemme know. Somehow I will FIND time to get my hands dirty - always wanted to work on a 2nd gen.

IIRC, a 79 4 speed car should have a PMD 400. The autos came with Olds 403s. Either way, I don't think the vette motor woudl bolt to the bellhousing. Right? 4 speed is nice - too many of those were autos. Does it have rear discs?

Untamed is in there with rolling prices. Road ready cars appear to range 4-10k, depending on condition, options, etc.

I thought the 301 was only offered in 80 and 81?

I think he is right, 301s wre first offered in 79. What a boat anchor. I've never seen one in a TA though.

And here I thought that crappy 301 never came in anything except the 80 or 81 turbo trans ams. I learn something new everyday :)
