Reposting this because the original title wasnt very suiting and I need some help soon seeing as how I am worried about this being a major problem.

I ran my car down a stretch after putting a spacer on my air cleaner base to make sure my throttle linkage isnt getting caught. I know for sure its not hitting my throttle linkage. This is what i've found : In drive the tranny shifts just fine into 3rd (quite agressivly actually) but while in overdrive it seems like it just wants to stop shifting at 2nd gear. I wound it up again and it was taking my rpm's past 5000 in second gear. I couldnt really tell if i was getting into 3rd or not driving normally but that seems to be what its doing.

Anyone have any advice on what it could be? I'm hoping its my shifter (I honestly have no clue what it is, dont know **** about trannies...). I figured I might as well add that earlier today I slipped my car into neutral by mistake and took it into the upper 5000's. I dont know if that helps but I hope I didnt **** my tranny up when that happened...

No i did a run in D and one in OD. The car definatly broke into third in D because I felt the rpm's drop back down like it was ready to go far beyond 80. When the car was in OD I was like come on shift at 5000 then around 5300 I let it off in fear something was wrong. Anyone have an idea?

PS: 5300rpm's in 2nd gear while shifters in OD
