I'm almost 33 years old and a high school teacher. My most recent act of automotive stupidity was this -

I took the Monte to work last week, and a bunch of students were outside at the end of the school day. They were egging me on, telling me to rev it up, do a burnout, etc. I took off around the corner very gently, then hammered it from a 10mph roll and broke the tires loose, ran it right up to 5K rpms, then shifted nicely into 2nd. Of course, I didn't see the cop parked right across the street. DOH! He came flying up behind me, lights flashing, and pulled me over like 100 ft. from the school. As the students are walking by, I'm thinking "Damn, I'm such an asshat!" Exhibition of speed in a school zone is not a good idea.

The cop was very pissed, but he let me go. I'm guessing he thought it was a 17-y/o student, and not one of the teachers!

i got a few, spun my 91rs on rt95 in the snow without hitting anything or getting hit, talked my way out of 53 in a 25 less than a month after i got my license, got caught in a hard rain on rt29 riding on slicks and skinnies(i swear the car got to 90 degrees before i caught it without hitting anything), getting into a screaming match with a cop after he asked how much my car(registered and insured in my name) cost my mom, doing burnouts and holeshots in someone's S10 and getting the tickets reduced to blocking traffic *cough -bill's truck- *cough.........the list goes on and on.
i also am the current record holder for getting all the way across ewing township when i blew by a cop at about 75 in a construction zone (35 over + double points/fines for the work zone) and decided to run instead of trying to say i was sorry.

My story is Philly-related as well. I'll give the longer version:

Back in college some friends and I decided to go out and blow off some steam after the last day of finals. My buddy Phil brought one of his friends along, who is a big car guy (can't remember his name). They pull up in his orange '69 GTO (455 4 speed) and we head to the Chili's on City Ave. We had a few beers and were talking about car stuff, and the guy was saying how he's getting pinging when he's up in the RPM range, so we decide to go out and adjust his timing. We get out the light and such, and after we are done we decide to take a couple short blasts along the back of the Acme to see if the pinging is gone. All seems good, so we head back towards the Chili's to park the car. At this point, 3 cop cars come flying in, one at each nearby entrance to the shopping center. They surround us, two marked, one unmarked. One of the cops gets on the loudspeaker and tells us to get out of the car and keep our hands where they can see them. We have nothing to hide, so we get out and stand there. The cops come forward and search us first, and then the car. We had to empty the trunk, pull the seats up, the whole 9. They hassled us about the tools in the trunk but that was about it. Once they were satisfied, they tell us that they got a call that an armed robbery was going on at the City Line Acme. After a few nervous laughs we tell them that we are just college kids, adjusting the timing on the GTO. They tell us that everything is cool, and we walk back into Chili's and sit down. The other people we were with didn't see any of this so they asked us why we have a glazed look over our eyes. So we tell them, and they all laugh at us and call BS, etc. But in a display of perfect timing, the cops all leave the same way, past the side windows of the Chili's, after which a big display of middle fingers and F-U's came out.

Edit: My nickname was "Dillinger" for a little while after.

my most recent being flipping forward on a 600 pound quad doing over 65 beside a highway. dont remember a thing from the accident (only what my friends saw) and only broke one bone... and i still rode my quad back and drove home towing a trailer.

man you got ***** luckkkkkkyyyyyyyy..... troopers are usually "jeep" people not fast car people.... those speeds are pretty insane on the pway... i was in a car that did that and maybe 157ish around 160 the lines start to become one its pretty weird

well im with bill i have way to many to tell.... most recent was 2 nights ago on my way to work a car with 4 hot ass college girls pulled up bye me and started yelling hot car ect so naturally i hammered it peeled out and slowed down to get next to the girls again not relizing the unmarked cop car right behind me who got a cloud full of tire smoke.... he pulled me over didnt even ask for my info and just said those girls got to you a little didnt they....i said yea and he said it had to be embarrassing enough to get pulled over and walked away and said..." i remember doing stuff like that when i was 19"

when i first got my 92 RS in decemeber 04 i got nailed goin 63 in a 35 and got a VERY LARGE warning, the cop happened to be my fire chiefs son lol

There have been too many to list, but here is a 5 minute review. Luckily they occur much less often these days. In fact, none of these occurred in the past 3 or so years.
1. A number of O-turns – rain, ice, dry, you name it
2. 130 MPH on tires with steel belts sticking out (found out about the belts 3 days later)
3. Rear wheel cylinders blowing out when coming to a stop for a major road (Bloomfield Ave).
4. Too drunk…nuff said
5. Being pulled over for suspected robbery (bad guy also had red Camaro)
6. 140 MPH for no reason on GSP
7. Throttle sticking wide open – at least twice
8. Outrunning at least 2 officers of the law.
9. Not knowing the guy tailgating at 65 me on the GSP was a cop, so I nailed it and left him in the dust, then got a very dirty stare (lucky for me there was a car stuck in the median)
10. Sleeping while driving on the way to Hunter on the NYSTW at 530 AM. Very lucky the roaod was very straight.

having a drive shaft explode at over 140 mph. coasted for 2 miles. and waited for the popo to show up.(it was 2 am) when he did he asked how fast were you going and i said 55 he said come on now dont bs me theres nothing i can do to you so tell me im curious so i told him and then got a lecture on what would have happend had the driveshaft dug into the ground. but the shaft did'nt fall out it damn exploded. the cop went back down the street and came back with a 2 foot piece of driveshaft. kinda of like whats left of an exploding cigar:rofl:

cruising down the turnpike one night(years back) found a black TA(4th gen) and we rolled together for a while, then the bitch threw a cigarette back while holding it out his window and over his roof and let go, it hit my hood and embers went up my windsheild, i was pissed! i dropped from 5th to 4th, went into the HOV lane and punched it, slammed into fifth and kept my foot to the floor, i walked away from him and like 10 other cars. i look in my rearveiw as i move one lane over and let off the gas and i see headlights coming, i start laughing like who they hell tried to keep up with me(at 115 i stopped checking my speed) then i see the silloette of the light bar on the roof of the car. i was like "****", before his lights came on i had already moved to the right lane, so he pulled me over. first i forgot on the turnpike they go to pass window, so hes waiting there finally i see him and hand my paperwork over(but i forgot to roll down the window) then when i do he asks me what that was all about...i respond exactly with "i'm a ****ing idiot" he agreed and i told him my temper caused me to take off becasue of the cigarette and all. he asked how fast i was going, and when i said i dont know, i was looking ahead, he goes "well at least u were watchign the road...you topped out at 127". He then asked if i had look behind me at any point on the turnpike liek befor ei did this, i said no. and he tells me he was the car directly behind me like 4 car lengths back for the past 2 miles. and he also tells me "at 90 i turned my camera on to get your plate cuz i didnt think id see you again." He tells me i could get upwards of 9 points right then, He asks about any points on my license and all and then goes to his car. comes back like 10 min later with 2 peices of paper, first he goes "i'm issuing a written warning for speeding", i was fine with that. then he goes "and this is a ticket for illegal use of the HOV lane, it was 5 min before 7 and you dont have anyone else in your car, its a $42 fine and no points" I was soooo happy right then.. i say thank you, and that i was sorry and have a good night. as he walks away he says "keep it slow, and nice car"

ive had other situations...4th gear smoking the tires past my town police station, warrants, suspected hit and run, speeding etc, but that story by far was the best, and after that i must say i did calm down a lot with my driving. i was young and stupid.

Well I just got done swapping my intake manifold, and was ready to start the car, I got in, and started her up. but she didnt start, she cought fire.. I ran out of the garage into the house to the kitchen to get the fire extinguisher, yelling FIRE. :rofl: I jumped down ALL of the stairs and went throught my living room into the garage aimed and nothing(pulled the pin on the way out) then I throught the fire extinguisher across the garage, ran got the hose turned it on, and ran to the garage. I sprayed the water on the fire till it was out, then i realized It had the mirical grow thingy still attached:rofl:

All in all funny storry, could have been tons worse, In haled some smoke, and car still doesnt run, but at least I wasnt a pussy and ran away from it like 1 person...:rofl:

If i had close calls i wouldnt be driving on a day to day basis waiting tfor the "you do not have a DL" letter.

No non ticket pull overs for me. But i did have the rear in the 67 blow up and lock up on Old Hook in Westwood right by the Getty if anyone knows the area. I was doing about 65. At the Sunoco now Valero the ass end started hoping and then spinning still goin 65. I spun all the way down to the hospital main entrance. Ironic kinda. Then called my buddies and we pushed the car 2 blocks to shop shop i work at. that was when i was 18.

ive done a 540 on a 2 lane road in PA at about 100, inches away from a guard rail, was facing traffic for a while in 3rd gear but was moving backwards...and all just after walking a mustang...the longer story is here:

i got pulled doing 86 in a 55...thankfully he was using vascar and timed me after i was on the brakes...i was doing about 115, saw the cop in the median...slammed the brakes, ass end came up hard (i was now going downhill)...i told him i thought i was doing 75 in a 65 and that my liscense was clean, in court i brought a driving record in, and he dropped it to 60 in a 55...no points in PA...2 points transferred to here anyway...lucky me...

the worst so far is when my friends from school decided they wanted to make a video...so while 3 of us were at work, the 4th went out during the day and found an EB Games warehouse...scoped it for cameras and found none...we all went back there around 9-ish...good and dark. i happened to be the first one to go...opened the cutout (wtf was i thinking) and began my donuts...stopped after about 30 seconds. then a civic did a burnout, a 240 attempted donuts, and a 325is made lots and lots of smoke. 5 minutes total of being there and we decided to leave...i happened to be the last one out.
the 240 and 325 both saw the cop and hit it getting onto a main road...the civic in front of me was oblivious to the cop, and waited at a stop sign for a good minute, allowing the cop to pull a u turn in the parking lot, and position himself behind me. I was ready to run (it was an intrepid cop car)...but the civic pulled out just as the lights went on. the cop asked me for my info...told me the more i cooperated the easier it would me. he then pulled me out of the car (and my buddy that was with me), went to search me...i reached into my pocket to show him my phone was in there (bad idea) and almost got shot. he then proceeded to tell me that they have cameras in back so i might as well tell the truth (i fibbed). then he said he had me for trespassing, wreckless/careless, street racing, and pretty much whatever else he wanted. another cop showed up, and they asked to search my car...i said go right ahead. they pulled my hammer out from next to the passenger seat and told me it was a concealed weapon. i told them it was for my starter...they thought i was bull****ting. later on the cop told me to give him info...i wouldnt turn in my friends, claimed i didnt know them...he then told me i have 10 days to get their liscense plates on his desk, or hes hitting me with everything. then my car didnt start when i was leaving...i ended up popping the hood and stuff, the cops began discussing how fast my car was and if it could take the one cops 4th gen! got the vehicle started and went home. called my dad, got yelled at, my dad was pissed at the way i was treated and wanted to get an attorney (he also said dont turn in your friends)...my dad and i both called the cop in about 10 days...he didnt answer, and we never heard from them again. and EB didnt have cameras.

One of my closest.....

My brother and I decided to see what his 1990 454 SS truck could do against my Monte. So we go and race, and i notice at the end of the road a guy standing in the middle of the road. It was a cop directing traffic!!! We go by slow.....further down the road i see a cop with his lights on coming ahead of us. Flies past us than notices what cars we were and slams his brakes....the cop directing traffic radioed us in hahaha. I see him go into a parking lot and start whipping a U-Turn, i 2-way my brother and tell him to haul ass cause hes gonna chase us. Somehow we split up and both got away.

But somehow all the speeding and crazy stuff i do, theres never been a cop around. *knock on wood*
