Anyone planning on attending this event?

I'd like to get out to one more event this year, and the wife gave the okay.

Yeah I think it's $30 and the session 1 is from 1-4. Gates open at 12, time trials start at 1 and eliminations at 3.

I was there at SLP 2004 and I believe helmets were a requirement, this still the case?

Would anybody be interested in a brunch or something before the track?

It's a 3 hour drive for me, might as well make a day of it.

helmets are required for any car on a track in NJ.

I will probably be there, just for the record, but probably spectating. Is etown strict about people in the pits and stuff? never been there

FunkZ, I know that drive well, my aunt and uncle live in Chambersburg. I probably won't make it out to the track this weekend, but if that changes I'll be sure to check in here to see if anything is going on.

Nope, gonna be N/A... and try for consistency

I'll probably wait for a trophy marathon series in November for the bottles.

 :metoo: :stupid: that is if I can get her inspected before then and get my one bottle fixed since it leaks.

not to mention I need to find out if I can even run since I have the LM on my Hawk and might be too loud or get yelled at since there is no muffler or some cry baby ****..

Just talked to Hockeyman and we're planning to meet at the diner just off the NJ Turnpike at Rt 33 around 10:30 that morning. Anyone is welcome to join us for something to eat or just to hang out before heading over to the track.

Ah crap, how closely do they look at the helmets? Just checked and mine is a Snell M90.

Depends on the tech inspector. Island was the only place that checked the helmet ratings.

Faster then 13.5 must be Snell 2005 full face.

FunkZ
10-11-2006, 11:05 PM
Hrm, guess I will just show up with my outdated M90 and if it is checked try to wheedle the tech with "but I only run 15's" bit. Worst case I suppose I would have to rent one?

My hemet hasn't met tech since I started racing... 8 yrs ago.

Mine is a snow mobile helmet.

E town has never given me problems w/ tech inspection

Run TT during the week, alot cheaper. This Saturday will be packed with Rice. I was there for the last event and there were a couple hundred ricers.

I'll be there but spectating with my buddy that has a wrx. Its also going to be the wrx vs evo that was supposed to be a month or so ago that got rescheduled. Should be fun. It says gates open at 1pm...is that correct? Seems kinda late to me.

Yes, earlier in the thread people were talking about meeting up at a nearby diner:

I went today and it was a pretty sad turnout for the fbody crowd. However, they had so many events booked that I think they should have called it "If you own a vehicle...bring it DAY" I seriously got bored watching bogged launches by many of the subaru and evo crowd along with the quick but horrible sounding srt4's that were running.

You're not kidding.. It took me over an hour to get in, my wife made 2 time trials by the time I parked. Not our day today only one round win for Kim.

2 hour wait between rounds. I thought the imports would never end, it was 6pm when the second round went off.

:stupid: Jeanne-Marie and I went and it was crap from the moment we pulled in...we had to park in the grass and wait for like an hour. Then we got in and it was mostly imports

It was crowded but I had a good time. Talked to some great people in the lanes, (nice meeting you Bandit!) got to take home a plaque thanks to you and your wife - which my kids thought was cool, got a new personal best time and made it to round 4 before the cold finally knocked me out - spun real bad off the line. I had been running 15.5x all day and that last run (at 8:40pm!) I suffered a 15.9

Was hoping more V6 guys would show but the only one I saw was a black Camaro with salad shooters, looked stock, had stock exhaust. Must have been another 3.4 because he ran 17.1 I think. But he must have left early because I couldn't find him later on.
