The other night at Hooters I was explaining my new problem with a warped stock valve cover on the passanger side to Paul (SmokingSS) and he mention looking for Composite LT1 Corvette Valve Covers. So today I started my search, and the first place i thought of was Ecklers. Well I found them, and the unbelieveable price of $179.99 for one valve cover!!!

The only reason I have been searching for them, is because the rockers Im using have tall poly locks and don't clear OEM style baffles that I had to deck on the stock valve covers (which wasn't a problem), But Im worried about bending or flexing cheap stamped ones that I could pick up at Pep Boys. So I figured these cast ones would be perfect for my application and be something I have never seen before!

I've seen them on a few GM Performance dealers but they are still about $100+ a valve cover which is insane!

I am not 100% sure they will solve you issue buts it may and is worth checking out.

Here are the GM parts numbers, and prices through GMpartsdirect.
12552322 $99.18
12552321 $92.81

I also included a link of an OLD ebay auction, a used set usually sells for around 100.

Eckler's, Zip, and the Vette places will have a hell of a mark up. Pace is decent.

People like to use those valve covers because the breather hole is on the side, out of the way. So it makes for a cleaner looking engine. And if you plan to convert your LT1 to the LS1 style mutiple coil setup you need valve covers like this if you want to mount your coils on top.
