Hey all,

Im new to this site, and will be using it alot to look up various things. I have a 93 Formula I purchased in 1997. Still using it to this day as a daily driver and love it.

Where I live currently im banned from doing serious work on my car. Last time I tried I replaced upper and lower control arms, got a notice from the community if it wasnt done by end of business day, it would be towed from in front of my garage..

Ive tried various shops in the area. Cartek in Garwood, SLP in Toms River, some various locals for this and that.
With my current sched and enviroment im looking for a good shop to do various things, maybe replace headers again soon, suspension work, recently got the cat replaced and was raped $700 for a job that leaked and scraped over speedbumps.. That took 3 tried to get it right at that place..

Im in middlesex county/piscataway. I am willing to travel anywhere if the work is good enough. Anyone have suggestions of any places worthy of such tasks?

Thanks in advance-

J

Welcome!
I can tell you one place not to go from personal experience (3 months to install a differential, ended up needing new transmission), the place NOT to go to for any work is Cottman Transmission (At least the one in Maple Shade).

As far as places to go to...I'm still looking for one myself.

well for the easier jobs like headers ect im sure someone in the area wouldnt mind letting u use thier driveway and maybe give ya a hand for a case of beer or something... it sucks they really give you that much trouble though and as for shops dont know of any decent ones around you

Cottman is a franchise, so one place may be a wreck, and the next one up the road might be the best tranny shop in the state.

The one in Ewing isn't bad.
