I need to get my 1979 el camino painted and some light bodywork done. I dont want to spend a fortune, around $1500. anyone know of any good shops that will workout a deal? anybody here know how to paint and want to make a deal? If all else fails i guess ill have to go to maaco even though id like a little bit better job.

Fonzarellis (http://www.fonzarellis.com/), we always used to bring dealership cars there. They do good work (from what ive seen) but might get pricy sometimes.

pm hardcorez28 (paul) he does some amazing work it may be a bit more then 1500 but itll be top notch quality... you could also save some money by doing the prep work yourself

doing the prep work yourself will save you the most money. that's where the money is in a good paint job. yes, the paint and materials cost some, but the majority of the money in a paint job is in the prep work. if you take it to maaco, forget about quality. they'll just spray over whatever you have now, and in a year or two it will start coming up.

why not take a class in body work to give yourself the foundation to be able to handle the prep work yourself? the dividends are bound to be worth more than the class... (ask me how i know)

Im a full time law student right now, no time for bodywork classes. I have done most of the bodywork already, it just needs a good sanding and a few small things i couldnt do done.

Ill pm hardcorez28, see what he has to say

These guys guarantee a perfect job and are in Fairless Hills, PA. They do charge a bit more than the average shop, but you never know. Just another suggestion.
