So Im pretty much set on getting a new motor, and its got a mild performance rebuild, with stock heads, I have a rebuilt 700r4 but the motor comes with a th350, id love to have overdrive, but the th350 has cheaper "power" rebuilds, from summit, should I put in the 700r4 for now, and then when the winter of 08 comes and i start doing all the work to my car, have the th350 rebuilt with all the goodys?

what is an easy to install shift kit? I saw on summit a 30 buck shift kit from b&m, would that be better then nothing for now?

what shifter can retain the factory console and not look cheasy if i plan to use a th350? I dont want a manual valve body..

what gears are the maximum for a th350? i dont want 12.80s at 88 mph..

If you want overdrive, and your 700r4 was just rebuilt, then why are you worry about putting a th350 in, let alone rebuild parts for it

Don't half ass or cut corners with tranny parts. Would this shift kit be for the 700 or 350? Oh, and I wouldn't go installing a shift kit if I was you. Once you drop that pan off the tranny, you will have no clue what your looking at.

The stock one.......

Dont know, I've only experienced a 87 LG4 with 2.73s and highway speed was over 2000 rpms if i can remember, its been years......

Matt, just stick with the 700R4 as it is now. It was recently rebuilt, and it should hold up to the power of a mild small block pretty easily.

I agree, i had a 89 RS with a 305 and the car had over 200,000 miles on it, and i beat the everliving ***** out of it and it shifted good everytime. i also put a shift kit in it but it was a pain in the assssss! somehow, my bellhousing broke before the actual tranny parts did. <- weird ***** right there!
