much better...there are some ls1 guys making big power with those heads. Now time to pick out a cam to go with those. What are your power goals? Drivability goals?

then think about something tame & under 230 duration especially if an auto...if an auto you'll also need a converter in almost any case.

is that a good cam for those heads? also is there anything else that i could upgrade/change is swaping the heads n cam out?

just put an STS turbo kit on it, have foff tune it and enjoy. :)
turbo boost means you get all the performance without having to sacrifice any drivability or gas mileage. it is the best of both worlds. it will also leave you with plenty of room to grow because you will still benefit from all of the other common bolt on upgrades. :)

i saw a twin turbo set up on a TA once.. front mount turbos. i tryed to find the video but couldnt. i dont really like the set up of the sts because ide be afraid that if i hit a pothole or speedbump i'll take it off and say bye bye to 4K.

for you to hit a hole or anything else that is large/high enough to take the turbo off, you will have also removed half your floor pan, your rear, rocker panels, back bumper beam and cover, and anything else you can think of.
the turbo actually sits higher than the stock muffler location jsut in front of the hatch well.

What's a warranty? Is that something these modern cars have? ;)
If you go with heads/cam now it will be easier if you decide later to go with forced induction. If you go with forced induction now and then decide to go heads/cam later it will be extra work.

VERY NOT STREETABLE cams notched pistons, etc and even then they are few & far between...fwiw a good medium range cam should be able to get you to low 12's at full weight or high 11's with some weight removal with a decent combo of gears/traction in an m6 car and 370-400 to the wheels with a good tune and supporting bolt ons...im not gonna use ricer math but there are some important must have parts to get good #'s...LS6 intake & headers being the main ones, but it all adds up in the end. I think Ali on here made like 370 to the wheels with JUST bolt ons so you can make good numbers even going that way...if you want a little lope I would say go with a 224 to a 230 duration cam on a 113 LSA you should be able to get good drivability, not horrible gas mileage & good numbers.

most good NA heads/cam setups work at their best with a blower FWIW...what works for one might not work well with the other. You can make good power with either, you'll make better TQ going FI, but if you want tq or huge dyno numbers do heads/cam or cam only but make sure the setup is nitrous friendly ;) nitrous=best bang for the buck IMO.

usually its a little more then that, especially since he doesnt have gasket kits OR a full bolt on car yet. total install charges will be much closer to 2k. im close by and willing to help andrew. i'll be doing my own car over the winter so i'll have some experience under my belt

its not really that difficult...FWIW harris speed shop does heads/cam installs for $899+ tax so trust me my prices are pretty accurately portrayed ;) i think ttp did them for like $1100 but they took them off their site for some reason. All together in a garage with the right tools & a good air gun you could be done in under 10 hours doing it with the engine in the vehicle.

Typically you can hit low 12s high 11s with just bolt-ons. You wouldn't need anything serious to hit mid-low 11s in a heads/cam set-up

all depends how serious you are...98TAdriver ran what 12.5 with a ton of bolt ons...then theres people like brandon who ran 11's but when pretty far into weight reduction...again depends how far you go & not all cars are made equal ;)

Well I went 12.088 @ 115 with a stock convertor launching at 1450 rpms. I also had......deep breath lol
BG ram air kit, lid, filter, ported maf, ported tb, LS6 intake, electric water pump, underdrive pulley, headers, off-road y, catback , cut-out, 3.73 gears, tuning, slicks/skinnies(dropped .2 and gain 2 mph from this), and I also had some weight reduction(bmr k-member, bmr upper/lower a-arms, jack/spare/rear seats/passenger seat/floor mats/rear hatch divider).

btw- if you wanna save a few, theres a guy on ls1tech selling a new in-box TRak cam package with almost everything you need to go cam-only for 1200 (brand new is 1600 i believe). you could even buy heads later if you wish. i think bill will chime in and tell you what he thinks about that cam ;)

you've got a 3.4 more then likely...buy a v8 if you want performance at this point...you could pick up a similar year LT1 for the same or less then it would take to get yours into the same range et wise. No flames please you guys know its the truth.

If you have a 3.4, then yea, those heads would work. There are several '95s around that have the 3.8, but they were mostly original CA cars....
Either way, you should still check out the second site.
