Just a quick thank you to 198esp1, and 1QWIKBIRD for helping me get the car to the track. Sorry we only got one shake down run, but hey 123mph is not bad for 3/4 throttle and lifting about 900 feet. Not to mention the car moving hard right on the launch. Good thing I did not launch the car at 6000 rpm that could have been ugly. I figure we learned some stuff and should be okay next time out. Been a long time coming at least this car only took a few years to get done. Did not think it was going to happen at the back surgery but it did. Thanks for all the help and use of the garages and tools. I owe you guys big and probably a few shots behind the wheel once it is dialed in.
Ken (no longer just wrenching)

Yeah....that was good stuff. Hopefully next time you get some more runs in and we see what the car is capable of.
Oh and 198esp, remember seperate the tranny from the bell when doing work on the clutch:rofl: its sooo much easier:lol:

Sorry for the lack of details long weekend with those two clowns. The car is a stock suspension setup with a PA racing front end and a BMR custom torque arm with spherical bearings instead of bushings. I have the first and only one made like it that I know of.:w00t: The roll cage is an Ed Quay design. It has 275 Mickey's Drag Radials. The motor is just a 23 degree small block with Brodix -10 heads and it has an old Doug Nash pro shifted 5 speed in it. Car is all steel except the hood which is a GlassTech carbon fiber piece.
The time slip is pretty bad as it only went like 13.1 @ 123mph. The sixty foot was 1.74 and the 660ft mph was around 97mph. The car spun and went hard right only launching it at 4600rpm, so I had to get out of the throttle. It was the first pass and I wanted to make sure everything was working. Hopefully next time out it will go in the 140's on motor.
Still it was a blast since the last time I actually had my own car down the track was when I had a 10 second Vega about 10 years ago. Damn that is a long time ago. Hopefully I can sneek out of work early enough to get down there again this week.
Chris thanks for the pics and Kevin learn to work your video camera.

The car is better than the driver right now. I was rusty behind the wheel and just wanted to shake the car out. But hey I figured the 123mph was ok for the first time down the track with nothing else going on. Now it is just a matter of getting used to everything again and having some fun.:-P

Do you know why the car shot to the right on launch?

Did not have enough preload on the right hand side. I have the weight jack setup on the rear so I can basically use the springs the same way as a coil over setup. Probably going to try for Friday and see if the changes are going to make a difference. Already got the ok to take a half day at work so I can get there early and setup. Now the driver just needs to do his job.

Cool I will definately be there. I was out Bammann's and he said he is going to come on down and help me sort out the car. This will be a big help. He has a way more experience than me at getting stuff down the track. Now all I have to do is wait for Friday, cmon Friday get here already.
