In the past, I never even considered going to any mall on "black friday" but this year may be different. BestBuy is having 2 laptops on sale, and since i need one for tuning, this will probably be my best shot to get a new one cheap and without waiting weeks(if i bought one online).

So on friday, i will be up at the Palisades Center in west nyack for the "big" sale. Tonight i talked to my friend who used to go to these sale things and he said it gets crazy and i should get on line by 6pm thursday(store opens 5am friday) I went to bestbuy tonight and talked to a salesman and hes just waiting for it to be over, and he told me if i wanna be like first on line, get there around 4:30 pm thursday... So, its not like I have anything to do friday, or thursday night for that matter, so by about 5pm thats where i'll be. I doubt i'll ever do this type of thing again, but i think its somethign i should experience at leats onc ein my life... haha, now my main question is... anyone wanna join me?? lol. i figure i'll bring a comfy camping-type chair and my old laptop to play freecell on, and maybe a snack. Hopefully i'll get there early enough that i'll be inside and not have to sit in the cold....

I discovered this site... http://tradingcircuit.com/ ... its a circuit city company that sells electronics that have arrived in a "damaged box" but guaranteed to function 100%. Stuff can go up to 60% off there, and they are brand new!!!

I"ve gone once on my own free will a few years ago. I hated it. But we may go this year, as there are a few things we can't pass up, it'd get some christmas and birthday gifts out of the way, and for much cheaper than if I bought 'em online and such. Luckily all the stores we need are about 5 minutes away from the house so we don't need to drive far.

My company is open that Friday and I'm always at work. Not that I would ever think about venturing out into that madness.

I used to go shopping on Black Friday but after getting hit in the parking lot 2 times in one day I decided to never go back on that day ever again. Not to mention its just too damn annoying fighting for parking spaces, fighting through over crowded stores, and waiting in long ass lines.

firehawk, that reminds me now, it'd be a good idea NOT to bring my Denali, lol. I'll take my beater Dodge Ram there instead...that way if someone hits me, maybe it'll smooth out some of the preexisting dents or ill get money to fix it haha

do not go on black friday...anyone that does is retarded...I went for the first time last year heres the run down
BestBuy West Windsor
a. Went their for the $149 computer/monitor deal they were having...guaranteed 10 minimum per store
b. got up at 4:30 am
c. got to best by at 5:00am
d. it was about 40*f
e. store opens at 8am I believe mind you
f. over 1000 people already in line
g. there are reps from best buy there preselling the items on sale basically so 99% of the sale stuff is sold to the first 100 or so people who pretty much camped out there from the night before
g. those 10 desktops were sold within the first 50-100 people in line just like every other deal
h. the other 950 people had to deal with the $500+ desktops and **** that was now more expensive then what it was a month ago.

don't do eet you'll be thanking me

BTW when we saw the line we went home cuz we arent retarded...and no thats not debateable.

Best Buy started giving out tickets to those in line for certain items (the doorbusters and other limited quanities) about an hour before opening (usually open at 5am). This avoids a stampede running into the store as it opens trying to get what you want, because only those with tickets will get the item. I'd rather they do that (and camp to get them) then have a stampede and get trampled, or have associates only let a few in the store at a time, and then you have a mud rush at the associate.

cool deal, were you the first in line? Did you actually camp out from 5pm yesterday? How many others were in line at 5am this morning?

i don't bothe3r going out shopping any day of the year. you can normally fiund better deals online anyway. most of the major chain stores have all of their in store offers and then some on their web sites, plus most run shipping specials or free shipping during the holidays.
best trick is the internet order routine, buy it online, walk up to the customer service desk in the store and they just hand it to ya. no waiting in lines or running around line an a-hole invovled. :)

I was 5th in line, and yes i was there at 5pm yesterday. Haha. by 5am there were around 1000 people. ALL the laptops were gone within the first 40 people. Kasey visited at around 1:30am. and he saw the chaos already beginning, but it was so entertaining, people arguing, drunk kids, security gaurds, and then some people further back in line takign charge and being our own "security"(1 marine and an older ex-marine, plus the guy behind me in line was 6'5" 300lbs) people had dunkin donuts, white castle, all type of snacks. Then others were using extension cords to plug in laptops into outlets everywhere. One person on line gave out the access info for bestbuys wireless network so most people could get online even. It was actually a pretty fun experience. I had a nice spot on a bench and it was all inside so the weather wasnt an issue.

i got up and went to bestbuy at 6am, i wanted the compaq desktop they had and it wasnt one of the 5am to noon only sales. i get there and the store doesnt open will 7am! the fliers all said 5 but ya gotta love paramus blue laws. as soon as i got there i got a parkin spot and i witness a hybrid civic rear end a denali, denali FTW! cop comes and hes like you guys are nuts but best buy at GS is 10 times worse! needless to say the line moved real quick even tho it was wrapped entirely around the outside of the fashon center. needless to say, i didnt get wat i wanted or anything for that matter, went home and went back to bed

We went to Target at 5am. Got there about 10 minutes early...didn't open til 6am (and not even Bergen county...oh well). Stayed in teh car the whole time, as soon as they opened it all the people who were smart and waited in their cars got in before the ppl in line cause we went in the exits lol. The ppl in line weren't very happy, but oh well. Got most of what we wanted. Then went back home and bought stuff from Kohls...we had walked in, but it was at least a 2 hour line to check out. Drove by staples and decided to stop since the parking lot wasn't even half full. Got some more stuff.

We had driven by the Best Buy in Totowa/Little Falls/West paterson (whatever town it's considered lol) at 10pm and the line was as long as the building, and maybe even longer. I know some people who were smart - waited til about 4am, bought the stuff they wanted online, at 5am the store opened, and 10 minutes later the people got their email that their stuff was waiting for them...everything they wanted. They walked in an hour and a half later and went to customer service and walked out a few minutes later with all of the stuff they wanted. Probably not everything could have been bought that way, but it was the smart thing to do! :)

I went out and had a game plan lol. Stores in Bergan county don't open till 6:30 7 so even though the paper says 5 it is not always right. Stayed away from Best Buy the line was probibly around the store. Hit up Radio Shack and the Paramus Park Mall. Picked up a nice 1 gig memory stick for 20 bucks and some other crap...
