So, since Pampered makes fun of the broken coolant line in my wife's Pilot every time we eat chicken fried steak, I thought I'd post this.

I decided to take one more look before I hand $600+ over to the dealer to fix the coolant line.

Damage - I cut this section of the pipe out. Not like I could make it worse.

It's a hair bigger than 5/8" line, so I tried to see if I could flare it.

I could, but you can see how it was squished a bit in the clamp:

I thought if I could flare it, I could put a nut on it and heater hose adapters (and I'm assuming I can get such an adapter). But my flare tool sucks, so I'd never be able to do it with the lines in the car. I was looking at hydraulic flare tools, but none seem to go to 5/8" (yes, I figured I'd rather spend $300 on a cool new tool I'd rarely use than give $$ to Honda). If they were easy to take out, I'd just fix it right. :)

So, I am making an appt with Honda this week barring someone here having some great answer.

Do you have a good plumbing supply store near you? They may have 5/8" flare tools, or maybe compression fittings...

You're just looking for excuses to not work on the Camaro.

For your information, I was out scraping undercoating off the 77's fuel tank last night.
