I hung out with drunk jOn tonight on a spur of the moment move, and we had a good time. Just parked his 'Bird n' my AMX in front of Dunkin' Donuts in Greenbrook, and spent some time rapping about cars/tech/life n' drinking some java. I'd like to see this happen on a regular basis, thus my asking the question: who from the REAL central Jersey area would like to form an informal car club? Maybe meet up one Fri or Sat a month, and maybe have revolving places to meet, unless everyone was cool with keeping the Greenbrook location. They have a big parking lot, and it is easy to keep an eye on things. Plus I've never had problems w/ the cops there, even motoring around at 2 AM. So, wadda you Hillsboro/Piscataway/Greenbrook/Franklin/
Somerset/Bridgewater/Somerville/Manville/Plainfield/Boundbrook, etc etc etc
residents think? Or even you peeps from outside the area that wouldn't mind motoring in to hang out? I say the only stipulation is it has to be American iron based. I don't wanna see a bunch of friggin' Civics showing up, cause God knows they are around there...

I'd be down for a meet like that! What exit off the Parkway are we talking?
well its the dunkin donuts in green brook on RT22(eastbound side) but we're looking to go anywhere in the area, and keep the ride down to maybe 15-20 minutes from everyone's place of residence.
And my thoughts were to pick 2 hangouts, one to meet at and one to cruise to with a line of loudass domestics :-)
PS cruisin straight pipes next to the AMC down Rt.22 at 1am is fookin sweet!

Anything on Rt. 22 is pretty easy for most north people. If it were on saturdays I think I would start to show up to something like that. Not much happens around here on Saturday nights anyway.

If yer talking about the DD in Springfield on Rt 22, I've seen cops there just about every time I wanted to hang out. I've even been run outa there by the Po-po.

Yea we swing by around 10pm just when all the ricer tools arrive and go have some coffee and a donut while they sit outside and wonder if they are fast enough to hang... usually they come in and stare at us while we laugh amongst ourselves, and they we try to take off before the cops show up. Usually once they hear the cars start up with open cutouts and such they run inside and hide, but sometimes we get one or two of the dumb ones that haven't heard of Darwins theory before that tries to pick a race :)

I have the AMX stored outside of Manville, and I have to motor through town every time I bring it home. Never had a prob. But then again, I grew up in Manville, and paid many dues there a loooooooooooooooong time ago.

I figured your were the Bob Gable from Manville. Is the AMX the one that belonged to D. Stack at one time. Just Curious. As far as Manville Cops, the first time I was in town in quite some time I parked with one behind me. I got out and asked what's going on. He said not for you this time and laughed.

So you know of Bob Gable from Manville, eh? Care to share your identity?
My AMX isn't the one that Darlene(?) Stack owned. If I know my history correctly, that was a 2 seat AMX. Mine is a 73 Javelin/AMX.

You Are Correct that car was a two seater. If you remember the white 66 Chevelle I had. I kept it until about4 years ago. I was going to back halve it and a Super Stocker friend of mine offered me a decent amout for it. So I sold it. As far as your Club I am in if you pick a spot in the Whitehouse area sometime.

Whitehouse is a nice area, and maybe you can suggest a spot. We used to hang out at "Car Parts F/X" when it was still "Car Parts F/X." But I don't know how that would be anymore. Cool beans. I kinda remember your Chevelle, that was a nice car. :)

Until the weather warms up I think there is a Dunkin D in the Area. I drive my Camaro unless it snows so I will bring it. I have a travel week for work In January but other than that I have some free time. I will know my schedule in a wekk or so.
Just a note the Chevelle was a beast to drive. It went 10.80s on street tires but it was a stick car with 5.86 gears. I made a lot of cash with it and it ate clutches and valve springs so thats what I did with the cash.

I don,t know about being related but if your breaking parts with a stick combo let me know what you are using. I worked for a speed shop in my early twenties who was a dealer for Zoom and Strange engineering. They also built most of the Lenco's for Top Fuel on down. They really helped me cure the Clutch Issue. Have a great Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joe

What I mean j0n is The Car a Small Block or big block, 2500lbs or 3600lbs. Muncie, T10, Tremec, Liberty, GForce, Whose Clutch, what RPM. What is clutch slippage, whose valve springs if she is breaking them ect. I have stated before I will try to help anyone who asks. I haven't raced a stick in several years due to about 20k needed to keep one behind 1100 Horsepower. No disrespect meant.

give her a few years. at the rate she is going now she will easily eclipse 69 actual camaros damaged in her career.

I see what you mean. Some problems cant be fixed. We never hurt that many parts even at 10,200 RPMs in the Hot Street Car.
