I went to Churrascaria Platforma (Rodizio) in NYC yesterday, it was AWESOME.

For those of you that are unfamiliar, churrascaria rozidio is a type of South American barbecue where they serve tons of meat. They give you a little card that is green on one side and red on the other, and if you flip it to green a server will come up to you with a big skewer of meat and drop some on your plate. When you flip it to red they will hold off.

The meats they served were:

Beef: Filet Mignon, Flank Steak, Sirloin, Short ribs, Long Ribs
Pork: Tenderloin, Sausage, Short Ribs
Lamb: Leg of Lamb
Chicken: Breast or on the bone

On top of this they had a fantastic salad bar with fresh sushi, squid, and a variety of other hot and cold things... though I mostly stuck to the meat.

Not real cheap, but man was it good. A lot of places will go for quantity over quality, and this place definetly had both. I'm still full, and I ate at 7:30 last night.

Good stuff. Anybody else been to one? :D

There are a few places like that in north jersey. they're awesome, but you gotta go when you're hungry. not worth it if you don't have a big appetite.

thats awesome the card idea reminds me of what they do at bubba gum shrimp co. they have 2 liscence plates on a post type thingy on your table on says "run forest run!" which means your ok and the other one says "stop forest stop!" its a pretty cool idea

That's the thing... it was definetly at least $50 of restaurant meat. Especially with all the beef tenderloin.

Sounds like a place in Perth Amboy (forgot the name, its on the water next to the Marina). In addition to the enormous amount of meat served off teh skewer, the table can order pitchers of Sangria. Just keep em coming till you get full, drunk or both.

Ummmm...sangria.....

Man, do I miss the old beefsteak charlies outside of MSG (by cosbies). All you could drink beer, wine & sangria with dinner. Steak & a fat buzz before every concert!
