I'm looking for a third generation 'bird for my younger brothers first car. He wants something fast but still wants that cool look. any ideas?

For a first car, anything with a v8 is gonna feel fast. Hell, the 2.8 automatic '85 Camaro I had as my first car felt pretty quick too.
Look around for a basic 305 in decent shape for a good price. Don't go nuts trying to find a 350 car...the L98 has too much power for a first time driver, IMO.

I would stick with an 85-90 for his first car.....front end parts are cheaper and more widely available, and seeing as how it will be a first car - chances are it's gonna get hit, or hit something else.

I have an 84 'bird for sale. Runs great decent shape. Would make a nice first car. Also if you click the Ebay link to see the pics and such you can add a BMR wonderbar to the list of suspension upgrades.

my first car was an 86 iroc LG4 auto. it was plenty fast for a 17 year old and very easy to work and learn on.
